Q: How Soon After Getting Off Birth Control.....

Hi all,
a friend of mine asked me a question today, and it's been so long since i've been on birth control, I have no clue...Her and her husband are thinking about trying to conceive sometime in the near future, she is currently on the pill and before that was on the depo provera shot. How far in advance should she stop taking birth control for her body to be regular enough to conceive. I know some women get pregnant the day they get off the pill and other takes up to a year or so, but on average how long do you think it takes most women to conceive after being on birth control for about 3 years. Thanks so much, she will appreciate the help.

Your answer was right - some women will conceive straight away others 6 monhts, others 12 months & some (just as in a world with no birth control) never. Also remember that your friend's lifestyle & her husbands as well as stress etc all play a part in when they conceive or if.

They say give it at least three months.

I conceieved my daughter less then three months going off the pill though. And yes, some people get pregnant right away!

Yeah, its different for every woman, but they can start trying right away. You can get pregnant while on birth control, so anywhere from the first day you skip to never.
