I have had a potentially fatal anaphylactic allergy to peanuts all my life, with countless trips to the emergency room and several close calls.

Since my early 20's, a product called "anakit" has been a real life-saver (literally) on many, many occassions. Recently, my health care provider has switched me to another product, called "epipen". I've had to use it twice in two years and on both occasions found that it took a couple of hours (versus mere minutes) to become fully effective.

I've been looking for the anakit online and haven't been successful. I am hoping that someone could explain to me why the anakit would be more effective than the epipen (larger dosage, perhaps) and where I can find this elusive medication.

Why has your health care provider switched you? Was it for insurance reasons? If not, you need to talk to them, cause this is seriosu stuff that shouldn't be messed around with..I just don;t understand when doctors/ insurance co. Cancel medicine that works so well for people...Ahhh..Good luck!!!
