Okay, so I need help:
my period ended two days ago, I am on
combination birthcontrol pills but I
started my pack 9 hours late. Me and my
boyfriend had sex tonight and the condom
broke. What should I do? I know I
shouldnt be ovulating.. So is it
pointless for me to spend the money on
emergency contraception?

Nah, your fine... 9 hrs isn't a
significant amount of time. Ive heard
through many sources that if you take your
pill within 12 hrs of when you were
supposed to take it, you should be fine..
(so if you take your pill at 9 at night,
but forget one night...As long as you take
it before 9 the next morning you should be
ok). I've forgotten a pill for more than
12 hrs before, and had sex (without any
extra protection), and I was fine. Ive
done that on more than one occasion too.
So I really wouldn't worry.

Are you sure this is true for the first
pill of the pack? Because ive heard that
the easiest way to get pregnant on the
pill is to take your first pill late.

Well the fact that it was only 9 hours and
the fact that you just got off your period
2 days ago are both working for you here.
I don't think you have anything to worry
about.
