First off.. I know fireflies dont
typically bite.. I used to run around
catching them just like everyone else when
I was little. ..I still occasionally
have the urge...
Recently i've been getting these bites
that are larger than mosquito bites that
my father says are spider bites. They
could be either, and I didnt worry much
about it because i'm pretty good at
resisting the urge to scratch them, so
they go away. But now i'm a little
weirded out. Today I was sitting here a
little slouched so that a part of my back
was exposed and I felt itching, so I
scratched it instinctively. My hand came
away with a bug, and that bug was a
firefly. I let the firefly outside and
shook it off, but now I have an itchy bump
where I found that firefly. The bump is
exactly like the other ones, shaped funny
but mostly like an oval, more firm than
mosquito bites, and itchy.
What on earth is this? My mother
suggested that it is just a spider or
mosquito bite and the firefly was
attracted to it for some reason. A
friend suggested I was just allergic to a
firefly that decided to perch on me for
whatever reason. I have never heard of
someone being stung or bitten by a firefly
and this is very odd! Lol.. Thanks to
anyone who can help me with this riddle
