I developed hives last october. It was pretty mild at first, just on my hands and feet when I was cold. In about march I had a really bad break out and have been getting them since then. I get them all over now. I have been to an allergy spec.,internal spec.Etc.. I get them when its cold, hot,or when i'm active. I also have bad allergies to dust, and all animals. I have recently become allergic to antihistamines.Kinda funny ha?I have bad allergies but can't take anything. Does anyone have that? I really hate my hives. I have two daughters and a husband, but spend most of my days by myself. I am so depressed all the time now. I have been seeing a chinese herbalist and it is helping. If anyone has any advice please let me know.

Have you thought that they may not be allergies? I had/have really bad "hive" looking rashes and they were not allergies at all, instead I had/have an autoimmune disease.

You might want to run a few things by your doctor...Maybe even see a rheumatologist, if for no other reason than to cross those possibilites off of your list.

Hope things get better soon!

I have been to an internal specialist. I had so many blood tests for all different diseases. They didn't see anything abnormal, but inflamation. What did you have?

I had lupus. Do you know what that is? Most people don't, but I hate to go into long explanations when someone already knows...Smile

i know alittle about lupus. Isn't it true that when you have a rash from lupus it doesn't come and go? I also just heard of reliv, I am going to order it on monday. I would like to know the cause of gregs mothers hives.
Thanks

Hi there...

Well, the rashes *can* come and go...They can also vary in intensity because mine do.

Also, they can take on any form...I can have more than one at any given time.

Like right now, I have several areas that look *measle-like* and I have one that looks like a ringworm (i have seen six doctors and they assure me that it is *not* a ringworm, just a lupus rash...Although not one said they have ever seen it before...)

when I first started getting really sick (and remember that *every* lupus patient has a different story), I had hive-like rashes covering my entire body. I mean everywhere.

My suggestion to you would be to go to the gp and ask about other possibilities. There are tons of autoimmunes out there that cause rashes...Even viral infections that do...

Hugs,

I had a rash that seemed to get worse whenever I had red meat, for years I thought I was allergic. Recently I had enough & went to an allergist, he tested for red meat--but nothing. Finally he did blood work & found I had auto immune hepatitis & a rash is one of the symptoms.

I am now on meds hopefully working towards a remission & rash is gone!!

Have your doctor check your liver enzymes.
