My boyfriend was a virgin who was bit
misguided in the way condoms work and
actually thought that when you used a
condom, you still pulled out when you came
so that you didnt actually ejaculate
inside at all. I corrected this
fear. Things were fine but then we
used a polyurethane condom once and it
broke and he freaked out understandably.
So since then he is just totally
afraid of getting me pregnant that we
can't have comfortable sex anymore until
recently when I agreed to let him just do
that pull out thing with the condom on and
not be offended. He is so afriad of
a condom breaking. We use trojan and
have never ever had one break. I
understand his fear. The
polyurethane condoms are not that great no
matter what people say. In my past,
I have had those break twice. But
never had a trojan break. I know
that all the talking in the world wont
convince him any different. I guess I
want some advice and stats on condoms and
even some stories so I can try to ease his
mind a little. I dont want to force
him to do anything he isnt comfortable
doing, I just want to offer him some facts
to make things more comfortable.

Are you taking birth control? That could
make him feel more comfortable. And use a
spermicide or something else too.

No I tried the patch since we have been
together but I cant use that stuff. Ive
tried the pill in the past too but the
hormones are too strong for me. Even
the lo dose ones. I did try the patch
for a few weeks and yes it did change his
attitude but I cant use birth control
myself due to the side effects making life
unbearable. So thats why im looking for
other ways to make him feel more
comfortable with condoms.

I was on the pill and using condoms and I
still wasnt at ease.. My boyfriend did
the pull out thing as well.. We used
spermicide and it worked good... Have you
tried the shot or even a diaphram?

Go easy on your honey. There is a lot of
misinformation out there about sex and
birth control.Give him credit for trying
to be responsible. If he can become more
comforable with using additional
spermicide, why not??You can never be too
careful,especially when you're young and
fertile.Best of luck to you both.Patty

I know this is kinda late, but i'll just
put in my two cents for anyone else who
may run across your post with the same
question.
Trojan is a pretty reliable brand. In the
beginning, my boyfriend did the same thing
about pulling out. We experimented a bit
and found a condom that worked for us,
latex with spermicidal lubricant. That
way there's a sort of "double barrier"
there. Try condoms that have such
lubricants on them. Just knowing that
there's extra protection there might ease
his mind
