I get headaches over my eyes on a daily basis. Advil will usually null the headache when it does not get too bad. Although I have been to dozens of doctors over the years and tried to get some help for the headaches, I have not seen any real benefit. Although doctors usually tell me they are a form of migraine, I have sinusitus and wonder if that is the real problem.

Migraines can often feel like sinus headaches. Most likely if you've taken decongestants, tried antibiotics for sinusitis and it doesn't help, then it is probably a migraine. The other thing is chronic rhinitus, which is basically chronic irritation of the sinuses without infection. Have you tried preventive therapy for migraines? (basically taking daily meds instead of meds when you have the headache)

Sinus Or Migraine Headaches
Hi,

I was just reading ur post. I have sinus headaches all the time....Usually when I take ibprophine for it , it works...But sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes I have the headaches for two and three days none stop. My husband has just today said something to me about him hearing on the radio that a lot of people tend to think they are having a sinus headache, because of where it is located...But actually it is really a migraine....Just not the bad ones that make you sick. How true is this and in my case would you talk to the dr about it? He had me on allegra at one time and I thought it was helping me..But then I started having the headaches again...So I stopped taking it.

I have had migraines 4 days a week for 1 1/2 yrs atleast. So my doctor says. I've done everything, mri's ct scans epalepsy meds, migraine meds. Finally my doctor perscribed me "cymbalta." I struggle with depression too, oh my, this is a wonder drug. It makes me happy, and helps with the pain. I still get a headache atleast once a week, but nothing like before.
Spendy, but worth the money.

I am a past migraine sufferer. I learned about the nti appliance in a occlusion class I took several years ago. A high percentage of headaches are caused by muscle fatigue due to clenching and grinding of your teeth.

Also, I have found that taking magnesium 400mg 1x/day helps prevent headaches.

The nti must be made by an experienced dentist in your area. You should be able to find one on the website.
