I have been having a pain in my lower abdomin...What are my chances of having addendicitus percentage wise? Are some people more prone to it than others? Thank you.

That described my oldest daughters appendicitis. She was feeling really sick too.

My middle daughter just had it. She was unique. She got really sick and had been sick for months but we never knew why. She got so sick that she got dehydrated. I took her into the er and they said that she had renal failure.... After everything was said and done it ended up she got sick because of her appendix one thing led to another.

Everyone is different. If you feel your appendix may be a problem then don't hesitate to get it checked out.

Appendix
Posted: 10-28-04 10:04am

I have been having a sharp pain on my right lower side that is getting worse each day (it has been hurting for about a week now). My appetite has slowed down (it hurts so bad at times, I feel to sick to eat) I feel so nauseated, and I have to urinate more often because it feels like something pressing on my bladder. My side hurts when I walk, stretch, or push in on it. I can not stand for it to be touched. It even hurts when I a sitting & trying to turn. My stomach is bloated or swollen & I can feel the pain in my side to my back. I had a acute pendicitis attack some years ago. Could this be my appendix?

what you are disribing ubove dose sound like appendicitis to me but you will need to go to your doctor to get a complete diagnosis. Are you running a fever at all ? When you go to your doctor I will probilly order an ultra sound and might even tell you to stop eating cause he/she want's you to get your appendix taken out the following morning.

Navel Bleeding
Posted: 08-15-05 06:20am

Could navel bleeding along with pain in the right abdominal area to gall bladder be appendicitus. I also have compensated cirrhosis along with esophageal varicies and taking pegasis interferon with ribaphere which lower both platlet and white blood cell counts. I went to the emergency room the other day because of the navel bleeding and all they could tell me was that I had a low count on both which I usually have . The only thing new is I have pain in the lower abdominal area worse than before and small amounts of bleedind through the navel which has never happened before.I also was lifting some furniture because of a move and wondering if it also if I could have a hernea. Is there anything that could cause the navel bleeding?

hello. Sounds like sciatica to me with the pain radiating from the lower back down into the leg, this happens a lot if you are overweight. The sciatic nerve is the largest nerve in the body, about the size of your pinky, it travels from your hip all the way down your leg. I suffer from the same condition, and it is always trying to come back. So you try to control it with medicine and exercise. Please see your doctor and ask about this. I know how bad the pain can get. Feel better soon!!

It could be a multitude of things. I think a visit to your family dr would be advisable. At least they can do tests & see if they can tell you why you are in pain

Could this be the start of appendicitus?
Posted: 04-13-08 09:33am

This may seem as though i am paranoid but the other day i came home after vomiting several times and having stomach cramps. I had slight diarrhea as well and a fever were my temperature was continuously changing from very hot to freezing. This just seemed like a basic bug to me. Then in the middle of the night i awoke with a sharp pain in my right side. I have reasearched appendicitus and took note that this pain should be located lower down, however this pain that i recieved was just below my ribs, but on the correct side. It was just like an extremely bad stitch, but i couldn't get back to sleep no matter what position i laid in. I got up to go to my parents room and went very lightheaded and couldnt even walk in a straight line, apparently nearlly collapsing. I laid in my parents room for several minutes and eventually the pain subsided and that's the last ive had of it. However, this was only two nights back and im still worried as to what it may of been. I have looked into the symptoms of appendicitus as it was suggested by a relative of mine. Many of them match what i have, including ones i have already mentioned, plus lack of appetite as i have eaten hardly anything since i got this pain, and some of my favourite meals i have hardly been able to touch without feeling sick. I know this may not be appendicitus and could be anything as minor as a bowel cramp, especially as i have only recieved this pain once, but i would much rather be safe than sorry. I am extremely worried about what it may be so please can you get back to me as soon as possible. I just want to have a rough idea as to whether this could be the start of appendicitus or not! Let me know soon. email me if neccasary.
