*wear a tight tight bra or bind them w/ like an ace bandage
*dont ever let water touch them in the shower(like beat down, I mean)
*try not to touch them as much as possible
*dont pump or express it no matter how much it hurts!!!!
*dont breastfeed even if ur tempted--

Wear a bra 24/7. Don't even think about taking it off! I had to take mine off and leave it off b/c I was in the hospital and it hurt so bad. I was on morphine for some of the time though so I missed some of the pain. The more you leave them alone the faster it will go away. It's just a few days. And like jordan said don't breastfeed!

I just read an artcle in the spring/summer issue of healthy pregnancy, and from what you have described and what the mag says, the baby isn't latching on right. You can tell this if he comes off a lot and if your nipples are sore. The mag said to rug your nipple against his lip, and when he opens his mouth, quickly bring him up to you. Don't go down to him, b/c it won't be comfortable. And if that still doen't work try some different positions. I think there is like 5 of them.

Purple333 said in one of the posts about this same topic to take cabbage leaves and put them in the freezer. After they are frozen (or really cold) to hold them on your boobs and it is suppose to help with the pain. Just thought I would throw that in there!

Kari, why don't you just try the pump, and use one of those plastic bag like bottles to feed. They are supposed to be just like the breast ,cuz they don't have they air that regular bottles have. Plus my doc said ,the if you want your baby to have breast milk but you don't want to breast feed, you can always pump, it out and it can stay in the freezer for months.
