Does anyone know what might be going on?
I had sex about 3 months ago. I might be paranoid thinking that I am pregnant, but I also went on the birth control pill 4 months ago. When I had sex, we used the withdraw menthod but I am sure he never fully ejaculated at all during our intercourse. I have stayed on the birth control since then and I have not missed a period. Is it possible to not miss a period on birth control and be pregnant? There has been one month of light bleeding in-between periods, could be from the use of the pill. Also, I woke up one morning several months ago very sick, cramps, nausea, etc. But, I did recieve my period that day so it was most likely from cramps. Today, my stomach feels very funny and I don't know if it could be pregnancy sings or what. I took a hpt 2 weeks ago, is that too late to take a pregnancy test at home for it to detect pregnancy? Its been about 3 1/2 months since the last time I have had sex. Two tests both came out negative. I have not gained any weight and any brest tenderness I have associated with the pill when I was taking it at its earlier stages. Do you know what is going on with me?!?! Help!!

If you had sex whilst using birth control and used the withdrawal method, I really can't see a cat in hell's chance of you being pregnant! I was worried about becoming pregnant once when I had unprotected sex, even though the guy didn't ejaculate (i know it is possible to become pregnant but not likely), and then didn't get my period. All the worry of this actually brought on symptoms of early pregnancy (tenderness, nausea etc.) but I took 3 pregnancy tests and they were all negative. If you're getting stressed over it it can cause some changes in your body which is what you may be experiencing now. If you had sex 3 months ago and all tests have come out negative I think you can safely say that you are not pregnant. I don't think it is too late to detect the pregnancy hormone in you urine, as it can be quite a few weeks before a woman develops pregnancy symptoms and decideds to take a test, plus if you've been having periods as normal I don't see a reason for you to worry.

Thank you for your feedback. The first month I was on bc was the time that I did have sex, so I know the pill isn't as effective until a few months after taking it religiously. But, I didn't miss a period, only had a strange one that first month since I was just starting to take the pill. It's possible that it is all in my head, but do you think if I took a hpt about 2-3 months after I had sex, it would still read results acurately?

Yes, if you were positive, the results would be so bright they'd blind you! You'd have about 10 times as much of the horomone necessary to produce a strong positive. You'd get an accurate result until you gave birth.

I am about 2 weeks away from getting my period and I am having some light spotting. If I had sex almost over 3 months ago, this spotting is not due to pregnancy, right? It could be related to my excessive exercise or perhaps stress about being pregnant?
I took 2 hpt's in the last month, making it 2-3 months after intercourse, both negative. Do you think I am just stressing out, or should I now go to a doctor because of this bleeding issue? Light bleeding has only been occurring for 1 1/2 days now. I am experiencing weird bloating/stomach pains day in and day out. Could it be from lots of exercise and me stressing myself out? Thanks!!

I don't know what type of birth control pills you take but mine were effective immediately. I take the combined 21-day oral contraceptive. As for the spotting, around the time I thought that I was pregnant I had a really weird period where I only bled very slightly for a few days then stopped altogether, and then had a proper period later on. My body was so messed up through the worry and throughts going through my head that I might be pregnant., this is probably what's happening to you too. The only way to really know if you can't be reassured about it is to go to the doctors! They'll be able to tell you for sure as its been over 3 months.

Lately, I have been getting some spotting. I have never had spotting occur before that I can remember. I am not sure if I am pregnant or not, (see previous posts for issue). If I was pregnant, I would be about 13-14 weeks along. Does spotting usually occur? I am still on birth control because I am not sure if I am pregnant or not (took 2 tests, both negative) and perhaps the spotting is due to heat, stress and excessive exercise. What do you think???

There's really no way you can be pregnant. Spotting has been associated with the pill (particularly in new pill users). If you've had your normal period already since having sex, have had several negative tests (especially ones taken that long after having had sex), you cannot be pregnant. If, theoretically, you had conceived and were pregnant, and you were not producing enough hgc to show up on a test at this point in time, you would have miscarried already. I'd say stress is a likely culprit to this. I spent a greuling 3 weeks of worrying about being pregnant, and in my paranoia, I experienced strange physical "symptoms." stress is a strange thing. Oh, and I had a few days of spotting too. I started my period though.
