My son has been diagnosed with tonic-clonic seizures and prescribed lamictal.

I am scared that the diagnosis in not correct and that the wrong medicine has been prescribed. Please tell me what you think.

My 3 year old son had his first seizure on saturday the 20th. He had two within 10 minutes of each other and they lasted about 15 to 20 seconds. I rushed him to er, where they did ct scan and chest x-ray and blood work. Blood work showed low blood sugar so they gave him iv. He did not have another seizure while there but kept saying he felt like he was falling and for me not to let him fall. We were transferred to another hospital where they did an mri and eeg. Eeg came back normal. While in the hospital, from sat to tues, he had another seizure monday morning, again only lasting 15 to 20 seconds. He has also experienced "drop seizures"??? (thats what the doctor said) he will be sitting and all of a sudden start to cry and he kind of goes limp. He does not pass out or lose conciousness, he cries that his hands fell down or that he fell down, it is like he has lost muscle control.

Please let me know what you think. I have been reading alot and the stories of the children that have been diagnosed with tonic-clonic seizures have all had seizures lasting at least 5 minutes.
