Q: Anyone Have a Similar Experience With Miscarriage?

I quit taking bc in november of 2002, by april of 2004 I was discouraged since I had not conceived and made the decision to no longer attempt to get pregnant. I began taking seasonale for bc mid april and due to complications ceased taking it mid may. In this time I became pregnant. I had my last period on may 24th, however I thought I had a period on june 21st, which I found out was not the case. I began spotting on july 2nd and thought I should take a pregnancy test due to the fact I never spot between periods. I took the test on the morning of the 3rd and it was in fact positive. I continued to spot through the weekend and on tuesday I called the Dr. Because I was concerned. I was told not to worry, because although bleeding was not "normal" it was common. However, by wednesday I could no longer take the waiting. I called the Dr. Once again and was told to come in that afternoon for an hcg/progesterone blood test. The test came back at 1964 for hcg and it was determined my progesterone was low. The Dr. Performed an ultrasound but was unable to see anything other than the endometrium lining. I was told this was also normal considering how far along I was in the pregnancy. They gave me progesterone suppositories and by thursday the bleeding stopped. I took another hcg test on friday the 9th and the test showed a decrease in hcg to 1602 which meant an impending miscarriage. I ceased taking the progesterone and resumed bleeding on saturday the 10th. I took another test on monday the 12th which came back with an hcg of 797. I took a following test on thursday the 15th with an hcg of 345. The Dr. Seems to think the miscarriage will take care of itself. I am continuing weekly hcg tests each thursday until my levels are back to zero. My questions are: how long might it take to drop back to zero? Will I ovulate before I return to zero? What will happen if I become pregnant before I menstruate for the first time following the miscarriage

I had a miscarriage in may. I found out that I had an empty sack and was able to do a d&c. I am not sure how long it could take for your levels to reach 0 again. My doc recommended waiting at least 2 months to start trying again--to let my body heal. He said that you have a greater chance to miscarry again if your body isn't healed all the way. Miscarriage is very hard--hang in there.
