I live in Quesnel, near Prince George (a small town in Northern BC), but I am originally from Brazil. My husband (who is a Canadian) had a vasectomy reversal last March in Vancouver and we would consider donor as our last option, but for now we will keep trying to conceive our own baby. Most doctors say that is still early for us to expect great results as sperm takes time to learn how to 'swim' again after a reversal. Hopefully we won't need the help of a donor because I am not really ready for that. Are you married? Where did you have the IUI done? I know about Genegis Fertility Clinic. It seems to be a great clinic.
I had a lot of fertility tests done prior to the reversal, just to make sure everything was ok with me and as far as I know I don't have any problems. I had some blood tests done in order to check my levels of: LH, FSH & Progesterone and I also had another painful test done, called hysterosalpingogram or simply HSG, to see if my falopian tubes were open. Have you heard of it? Did you have it done prior to your IUI?
Anyway, I wish you luck. I know how expensive these treatments can be. We spent almost $6,000 for the vas. reversal, so I can't imagine spending more for fertility treatments. Hopefully we will be blessed with a child some day.
Bye for now and take good care of yourself.
Marcelle
