I was wondering if anyone ever had an iud or got one after ab? Hubby and I are considering this option since we don't plan to have children of our own. Sterilization is too permanent for us because we are so young and you never know where life will take you. I have read some info on iuds and they have a newer one that is good for 5 years, releases progesterone, and can eliminate or lighten your periods while you have it. I'm not sure how soon after ab you can get one, I haven't talked with my ob yet, but will this week. It was pretty scary after they first came out, but they've been used in europe a lot more than here in the us, and had little to no problems, with 98-99% effectiveness. Thanks for any info or advice you can give me.
