I just turned 40 but I have the bladder of a ninety year old. My pelvic organs are falling out. Does waiting to have it looked at cause any significant problems? I have irritation, can't empty my bladder completely,
alot of pressure and just plain old uncomfortable. I do not want a pessary
as I am only 40, and I know what they are like. I know every thhing is falling because I can see it and it looks like more than the bladder. I see the md on monday, are there any specific questions I should ask ? Thanks for the time

Extremely eHealthy
Hey there, why are you so against a pessary? It is like a dumbell for your pelvic muscles. It is worth a try, rather than invasive surgery. If you don't like it,don't use it.Should be covered under your health insurance.I would try strenghtening the muscles before sugery. My boss had a pelvic floor lift right before christmas last year and it was no picnic. You might try doing a search online to see what your options are before you see your doc and write down any questions you may have and bring with you.Docs tend to listen more if they see you have done your homework and know your options.Best of luck to you!Patty

Reconsider Surgery
Hi

please re-consider any invasive surgery. I was so unbelievably relieved I didn't do so after reading the shocking stories in "misinformed consent" by lise cloutier-steele.

Another very important book to read is "saving the whole woman" by christine kent who has a great website called first aid for prolapse (i think).

There is a very good chance of horrendous side effects form these surgeries and also of subsequent prolapses as for example, the removal of one organ removes scaffolds for the others, in the case of removal of hte uterus.

Think about yoga, acupuncture, herbs and biofeedback with good well trained people and inform yourself with those great books if you can

good luck

anne
