Sleep Apnea And Restless Leg Syndrome Posted: 07-15-04 19:47pm
I have recently been diagnosed with sleep
apnea, I am 43 y/o female. I do not
snore or neither am I overweight. I
have been using the cpap machine for 3
months and see a difference within me, I
no longer have headaches in the morning or
am I fatigued. I also have restless leg
syndrome. Currently taking mirapex 0.125
mg. Before I go to bed. When I am
sleeping I experience muscle spasms that
hurt so badly I can't move my arm. It
lasts for 45min. Or so. It wakes me up,
have others experienced this. I do have
a major problem that has been misdiagnosed
and hopefully someone could help me. I
have burning sensations in my brain, nose,
lips, ears, eyes, mouth, arms, legs, hands
and complete torso. The burning is
incredibly painful. Currently taking
pain management drugs to stop the pain.
And many times it is a penny dropped in a
bucket, meaning they do nothing for me.
I have suffered with this problem for 7
years or so. Can these sensations be
tied in with the sleep apnea problem I
have? Can someone assist me in this
group?
Alot of people that have restless leg
syndrome have burning sensations in their
legs and feet. I have been misdiagnosed
with neuropathy and I don't have this.
Sleep plays a big part in our lives and it
is taken for granted. So many people die
from cardavascular, heart, diabetes,
obesity problems cause of the sleep apnea.
Before learning that I had sleep apnea I
use to go to the bathroom so many times at
night it was annoying, even tho I drank
nothing prior to sleeping. Our hormones
are tied with all this. I could never
explain why and I wanted to share this
with the group.
