Q: Possible Symptoms, But Neg. Test. Lots of Questions...

Hey all! I had my last period on june 9th, and it was regular. However, this month, I started bleeding lightly on july 6th (3 days late), and only for four days. I had mild cramps about a week before I started bleeding (normally my cramps are heavy, and about a day or so before I start my period). In the past week or so, I have had headaches, nausea in the morning and early afternoon, moodiness, breast swelling and tenderness, frequent urination, fatigue, and a light, stringy discharge. Is it possible that the bleeding was implantation bleeding? I took a pregnancy test today, but it was negative. However, i'm not convinced. In the past hour or two, I have been feeling mild twinges in my lower abdomen. I just feel pregnant, if that makes sense to anyone. The pregnancy test I took was only 3 dollars and it was an off brand. Does that have anything to do with the quality? Also, i'm taking anti-biotics (cephalexin) for strep throat. Could that cause the test to be a false negative? Any answers or help would be greatly appreciated!

The different brands all say the same effective rate, but if it makes you feel better, go take an ept or something. I'd say you aren't pregnant. All those symptoms you mention don't show up for several weeks, so if you are having them, they most likely aren't from pregnancy. And discharge wouldn't change until about month 3 or 4. You definitely wouldn't be feeling any twinges at this point. I think its in your head.

I would say that since you're taking an antibiotic that it could be possible you're pregnant, since it reduces the effectiveness of the pill.

Your strange period, and nausea could be from your strep throat. Your peroid changes when your body is under stress. However, antibiotics can effect birth control. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. Five days later, I took another and it was positive. I took an ept. I don't know if there's a difference either. But the first test (5 days before) was another brand. Also, be sure to use your first morning urine. And you might wait a week or two so your results are more likely to be accurate. Good luck.

Update!
Hey everyone! Well, I took another test yesterday, this time is used e.P.T. The results were negative.... I think. The postive window was blank, and the negative window had a line, but it was so faint that I could barely see it. Anyone know why it might have done that?

And again I maybe as well. I am over a week late and I am suffering. My body temp is went up and man do I hate it. All pregnancies were with the same guy. My b/f at the time. Well I just broke up with him but hopefully he'll be open to help me out. I hope everything works out for you...
