
your message broke my heart. I also struggled with food and feeling full and hating my body for over ten years. It has nothing to do with age or intelligence. It is caused by many psychological & physical factors. First & most important of all, don't beat yourself up for this! That will only perpetuate your self-destructive behavior.
The only thing that helped me, besides counseling to get at the root of my emotoins, was eating 3 healthy low-fat meals every day. I found that once I ate enough, and cut out the junk (which after a time I didn't even miss at all), I lost my cravings to binge and, of course, purge.
I'm not over this yet by a long shot, but I haven't thrown up in nearly a year. You can do it, but it takes alot of work and you cant "just stop". Ask for help ~ get a good threrapist & nutritionist who know about eating disorders. Hang in there!
