Iam a 54 year old male. In sept. Of last year I had a problem with my vision. Distorted faces double vision and it would leave a bad taste in my mouth,it would last 11/2 to 2 hrs at a time. I have had mri/mra/mrv an other test done an no one knows whats wrong. But now there is a new problem to go along with that I also have a noise in my head 24hrs aday.I have had my hearing checked but that ok! At one time they said I had ms! But now they say its just migraine. But I dont have the pain that goes with it. And the noise is driving me crazy. Can someone tell me if they have the same problem. An what you where diagnosis with
Weird!! The only things I can think of that might help are ces machines &/or sound & light machines you can check both out at: alpha stim & dynamind. Also through search engines. They should help with the headaches (the ces has been a godsend for my migraines etc) but the noise - that - I don't know. Still if you reduced/stopped the pain it may have a flow on affect to the noise if it is an extension of whatever is caussing the pain??
my husband has been having the same noise in the head issue for about a year now and he has been told it is migranes as well. However, we are not so sure and says the noise is driving him crazy as well. If ANYONE PLEASE has any information please advise.
I had the same problem, non stop noise + constant dull pressure headaches. Then I had a large discharge of clear yellowy red fluid out of my nose, for apparently no reason. I was fully fit, with perfect blood pressure. Turns out it was my sinuses. After having my polyps removed (they do grow back), headaches, and hissing stopped. Unfortunately, after 10 years without the problem, it's back and getting worse.
Since December 2009, I have a noise inside my head not my ears, this noise resembles the noise you hear when you change to a TV channel that don't have any signal.
I hear this noise 24 hours a day, some days its very high, some days is not that high, some days is soft and some days I don't have or I don't hear the noise in all the day.
I notice that the noise level change after I take a nap or when I sleep, when I weak up from a nap or when I weak up from sleeping, the noise can change from "0" to very high. When the noise is very high I have difficulty to hear sound coming from outside my ears.
I had ask to my Doctor, in the beginning he think I was developing high blood pressure, but after some test, he say that my blood pressure is okay 120/80, then they made some ear testing and my ears are okay to, So now he doesnât know what direction I should take as he say that doctors are used to hear increasing pain or noises, but that is not normal to hear that a noise or pain decrease or disappear and then comeback after a nap or sleep.
I have the exact same thing. I have had it for about three years I have had all the head tests you can think of no one can tell me whats wrong they say just live with it . Right bet they would feel different if it was them living with it.
Also WHEN I GO TO BED WITH THE very high pitch noise I HAVE VERY WILD dreams. Do you notice any change in your dreams?
If you find out any thing that help please let me know.
I am hearing hissing noises similar to the one you described since last December . MRI is ok , Ear drup and ear structure is ok . Not able to figure out what is wrong and whoat could e done to address this . Did you get any solution to your condition ? will apprerciate if you could share more details .
I have had that same hissing noise for 14 years. For mine, the hissing noise started after an ear infection. The infection healed, however, the noise stays. The condition is getting worse in the last 30 days (October 2012). Please share, if anyone have a solution to it.
Try to stay away from satellite dishes that could be the causes, especially in bad weather conditions. If your house or your neighbors used dishes, weak signals, high voltage signals, bad signals, all these invisible magnetic signals cause migraines and hissings noise in the head. Check it out. Your doctor cannot cure you.
I have a similar situation . This developed with a mild hissing noise about 8 months back and has been worsening since than. I too hear contant noise in my head . There ae few moments I feel quiet but most of the time it is a contandt noise. Please share if you have found any method to manage this ?
I have the same symptoms! it is like i am reading my own situation ! i am going to see doctors (ORL) in 2 days ! but reading this comments i feel litle desperate to find solution , i hope you will read my comment and if you can tel me what you feel now after 2 years.thank you
I've the same problem.......but not all time may be once in a week......now I am 23.......I found an article that says If you take a good amount of glucose it will reduce the noise for sometime.....I am not sure because I never tried this.....but yes when I search on google about glucose health benefits it says that glucose is good for brain.....so, i'll say try this though I never use this but maybe it is just a side effect of lack of some essential vitamins and minerals from out body.....that website also suggest to take multivitamin tablets....try this...whatever your result is plz comment.....might be helpful for others who r suffering with the same problem
Well maybe is who knows, but I had see doctors with tinnitus expertise and they say to me that don't believe I have a tinnitus disorder, because they say that tinnitus noise always is there and in my case the noise level change, some times its very high, some times is very low, and some others I don't hear nothing at all.
Something I have done to help myself is to stop giving attention to the noise itself and forget that the noise is there as the article suggested and I think is working, another technique I am using when I go to sleep is add cotton inside my ears (or you can use any commercial aid for this purpose) and concentrate with the sound my body emit when I breath, and works very good, because I forget the other noise and I fall to sleep.
I have the same problem for 2 month now and can't get an answer from the doctors. They ran al kind of tst, CT scan MRI and everthing came normal. I was wondering if you still have the problem or got an answers from the doctor.
Thank you for your prompt reply. I have one more question. Do you have any other symptoms associated with the head noise? I've been off balance as well and having these 2 problems is driving me CRAZY! I know I need to learn how to deal with the head noise because it effects my life and my loved ones. Do you have any suggestions?
If you have experience balance problems, this could be a problem in your ear, as in the ear is where our balance is controled. Maybe is your inner ear where your noice and balance problem is created, you should go to the ear doctor. Try to look an experienced mature doctor, maybe he had several patience in the past that develop symtoms close to yours. I personally don't trust young and inexperienced doctors, I understand they have to learn, but not with my body! Also maybe you have developed Tinnitus.
As about how I deal myself with the noice, I already have talk about this in one of my first coments here, but here is again:

In my case I have only the noice, I have learn recently that I have a very high triglycerides levels, and I hear yesterday in a party that high triglycerides levels and high blood presure can be the cause of the noice inside my head, you better check this also.
Take care yourself and let me know as you learn more about your problem. If you want write me.
I too have suffered with head noise. It comes and goes for nomapparentnreason. I describe my noise as a dull sound of a hammer heard far in the distance. It only occurs with movement and stops when I sit down or lie down and stay still. I have had this for about 10 yrs and have had every test, mri's , you name it. It is definitely Not a ringing in my ears. An MRI showed enhanced meninges of the brain, but doctors still are baffled. Any suggestions?

Tracy39 .. i have had that before, an old radio playing, an old band tune, sounds like the 1930/40's sound, occasionally, but the times i do remember hearing was after an accident, one an head trauma (early 20's), and when i broke my neck (33 years old)
i now have head noises that have been gradually getting worse over the past few months, mainly seems the right side i can hear them, which are different sounds. I am now 54.
i dont know what the band playing is, wish i knew, YOU are the first person i have heard say this, i never told anyone else.
But, i have been having tests, because the saliva glands on my right side have been blocked, with a odd taste in my mouth when i did get saliva .. i am waiting to go back to see the consultant in February, but the right side of my head has not been feeling right for a long time now.
2 weeks ago, I fell and hit my head on Ice. 3 days after, i heard noise inside my head.I'm 100% sure it wasn't inside my ears. it sounds like radio chanel with no signal. started low volume and increased. it last for few seconds. Day 5, I heard also noise like music instrument I can't tell what it is but the sound started low and increase. Also for few seconds. I spoke with a Dr. & a specialist. Both didn't agree with me that this is something possible to happen. I felt better when I read that someone else heard the same noise. This means I'm not crazy.
I have been having some of the same noises in my head. One noise is only when I lay down. I hear a swushing sound, that coinsides with my heartbeat however, is not coming from my pulse, like the sound you would hear from a stephoscope. It sounds more like like a fast wave sounds, like water passing through rocks. The other sound, I hear in my head while, up and awake, is much like others, here have described. Like an electrical sound, snapping or the sound you would hear if you consistantly, cut a live wire. It is not loud but loud enough to be annoying. I have had Cat Scan and an Ultra sound done on my arteries in my neck. So far, no findings. I feel like people don't believe me and I wish I was making it up, for it is annoying as can be!! I worry about the possibilites and take some comfort that it looks as if I am not alone with these sounds in my head. I'm sane in all ways in my life. Intelligent, somewhat healthy except for diabetes and I am emotionally, sound. Just can't stand these noises. If anyone has the same or similiar problem, please reply.
I am26 yr old male. Last year I had bad depression and attacks and developed first tinnitus but a few months after I started getting noises trapped in my head. Now the noises are always there and it's horrible. I been through so many ctvscans and mris. Does anyone know if it could be depression related
