Well, I obviosly joined because of my mom, and I am very concerned over her health.Ok, for starters yesterday while my mom was vacuming , she heard a loud and painfull pop in the lower left side of her back. After which she couldn't stand anymore , she can hardly walk and the pain is almost unbearable. Are those signs that she may have experienced a hernia? Crying or Very sad please help me. She's only 42 and also over weight (how many moms arent) but I need to know so I can take her to a doctor.

Hernia
I really dont know if it could be a hernia but if your mom is in that much pain the logical thing to do is to seek medical attention, it could be a pulled muscle if she doesnt feel better soon call a doctor or go to the emergency room good luck I hope things are ok

Living in the richest and proudest country in the world and yet cannot access basic medical facilities. I live in a small poor developing country and yet when I have slipped disc 1 month back I can get practically free hospitalisation , treatment and physio therapy (all of world standard) for free. And every malaysian who wants it can get it. No questions asked.

Today I am about 80 to 90% healed. Thanks mainly to my physio therapist...Free....Government hospital.

So I suggest america is not such a great coutry after all. Instead of spending billions on exporting democracy to middle east, I suggest bush should spend some of that money on medical facilities for its own citizens.

It is very likely your mom has a prolapsed (slipped) disc. If it is it is very painful and complete rest and immobilisation is needed in the first 3 days. You will need pain killers and anti inflamatory medicines. Hospitalsation is preferred and not necessary if you can prescibed her pain killers

she will need vioxx, methycobal and lioresal for starters. Obviuosly only a doctor can confirm my dianosis.
