For about a year, i've been having recurrent painful spots in different areas of my tongue. I thought they were cancer sores, although they are not white. When one goes away, another crops up in another area of my tongue (usually on the side or the tip). I've had blood tests and have even been tested for aids. My physician said stress could be causing this. I am a highly stressed person and suffer from generalized anxiety disorder and hypochondriasis. I'm starting to think that a systemic problem could be causing this. I feel alright - it's just annoying and sometimes I feel it's hard to talk when I have one of these sore spots.
I've shown my dentist. He feels it could be trauma from grinding, although I do wear a mouth guard. Also, sometimes I can feel one of these sore spots coming on during the day. If it were all related to grinding, would'nt they always hurt right in the morning?
Anyone hear or this or experience this annoying symptom? Your feedback would be greatly appreciated as i'm starting to panic over this.
