Q: Whats Causing My Post Nasal Drip?

Hi,

my name is chris and I have had constant respiratory and throat infections for about 5 years now.I am at my wits end, after many visits to my doctor over the years,an endoscopies,a neck x-ray and dozens of antibiotics, nobody seems to know what's wrong with me.They think it may be post nasal drip but cannot find what's caused it for so long.I have all the usual symptoms of pnd,but the treatment they give me(flixonase allergy nasal spray)seems to do nothing.Ive been taking it for a few months now.I'm not a hypochondriac,im not a stressful person in general and before this all started I was in perfect health.A couple of things I should mention:at the back of my neck on the left side at the base of my skull,i have a painful grinding/crunching feeling when I turn my head.I have had this from the beginning and it is as painful as the pain in the front left side of neck the only difference being it feels like there's something in my throat.I have constant earache which makes a whooshing noise and my saliva is thick and my breath is bad when symptoms are bad. This in turn seems to affect my digestive system with constipation and diarrhoea
I know this is a long email(sorry) and without examining me it would be difficult to determine the cause and what treatment to use,but if you could give me any help with this nightmare I would be so grateful. Confused

Post Nasal Drip
I was wondering have you ever been examined or tested for spinal fluid leakage? I have had this condition a few times, and the fluid comes both out my nose, and as a post nasal drip. I dont know if it can effect your respiratory system. My throat gets sore from the dripping, and coughing develops making it more irritated. My nose gets a stong odor before it starts leaking, and at times I could barely breathe for it. I would be sure to have either an ent look into that or a neuro specialist. My condition was misdiagnosed several times as allergies.

I am experiencing the same problem and still don't know what is wrong with me. I have been to the doctors a few times and they ignored me and one of them said it was all in my head. I will be getting an x-ray and also going to see a specialist. so I hope they do know what's up and I hope you find out as well.
