Q: Anal Itching, Confusing Diagnosis

I'm not sure if this belongs in the sexual health area because I don't know what's causing it. A couple of days ago I began experiencing anal itching and irritation, which is worse during and right after a bowel movement. My first instinct was to think hemorroids even though i'm only 19 and not overweight. However there are no visible signs of hemorroids and after researching more I found the horrifying possibility of pinworms! The fact that the itching is the worst when I first wake up is what threw me for the loop. A third possiblity is that it's a result or oral sex with my boyfriend who recently shaved off his beard and now has scratchy stubble, although that wouldn't explain the morning itchiness.

Phew, anyway I don't have health insurance right now so i'd appreciate any information on solving this problem. I don't know why i'd have pinworms unless it was from the "workplace" cat who has had several bouts of worms herself. Ick
