I need help desperately to help me figure out what happened to my mom. She had alzheimer's and recently passed away suddenly from what I think, from doing some research, was a massive brain hemorrhage. If anyone has witnessed a fatal brain hemorrhage could you please tell me what you saw? Mom was standing at the time. She took about 4 quick panting breaths. She stepped back. When I looked at her face, it was very red, her face kinda puffed out twice, and she made a couple of grunting sounds as her face puffed. At that time, I guided her to a chair. She took two very loud gasping breaths and then more quiet, shallow breaths which came further and further apart until the last one.
I noticed in the funeral home, a bruise on her left temple and a few spots of what looked like dried blood around it. She didn't have an autopsy, so we don't know for sure what killed her. I desperately need to understand what caused the puffing, the redness and the sounds. Did the blood that flowed from the hemorrhage go into her face? Her lungs? Was she probably unconscious? (her head was on my shoulder, so I couldn't see her face) please help me put these horrid thoughts to rest and give me an idea of what happened to mom. Thank you. Sad

i am the daughter of a brain hemorrhage sufferer (my mam). my youngest brother actually witnessed it happen and can agree with all that you have mentioned. yes the reactions would have been from the hemorrage, my mams breathing was the same. my mam somehow survived and has told me to tell you your mother would not have felt any pain as she never did, also the doctors confirmed that sufferers often feel no pain.
i am very sorry for your loss
