Q: Chlamydia Not Getting Better?

I tested posotive for chlamydia about 2 months ago and I have not had sexual intercourse since then. When I went to get treated, the doctor gave me a single 1gram dose of azithromycin and I felt better for a day or so. But then a few days later the symptoms came back worse than before! So I went back to the doctor and told them that the treatment didn't work so he gave me another single 1gram dose of azithromycin and a five day (2 pills a day) dose of doxycycline.

My partner was medicated the same way as me the first time and she didn't feel better. She was also medicated the same way as me the second time.

We both felt better for about 2 weeks but now we feel like the symptoms are coming back! (we have not had sex with eachother, or anyone else) they are mild (slight 'funny' feeling in shaft of penis when standing up, no burning but hesitant urination) so we think we may be paranoid, but we're still freaking out! We have to wait for our doctors app. To get tested again and I still have to wait for the results. Arrgghh!

I've also read that sometimes bacteria can "mutate" and become resistant to antibiotics. I really hope that I don't have some strange version of chlamydia. I really wish that I was in better health already. Crying or Very sad

so have any of you heard of this type of thing happening with chlamydia just sticking around and not being killed off by the first or second treatment? Or is the mild symptoms that I feel just the result of having this sti and i'll have to live with it forever (i.E. It's scarring or something.)

knowing that others have gone through what I have and feel better, in turn makes me feel better.

Thanks for listening everyone,
jmsocal

I Think De58 Is Correct
I think you have trichomoniasis and you each need 2g flagyl single dose.
