Some Doctors Are Stupid!! Posted: 09-24-03 06:31am
Hi,
you know how you get shivers up your spine
sometimes? Well thats what makes my
stupid doctor think that I have epilepsy.
I have never had a seizure that I have no
control over but yet my doc still wanted
to put me on meds without even having a ct
scan!! I have had a eeg and a sleep
deprived one and both of those were
suggestive of epilepsy, but when I refused
to take medication doc wasnt happy! But
why would I start meds when its not %100
percent certain that I even have the
condition. But my question is the doc
wants to take my license away even though
I have never had a fit!! Has anyone else
had a situation like that and just been
downright angry???? The doc is probably
just as likely to have a heart attack
while driving as I am to having a full
blown fit!! Personally I think it sucks
that doctors can have a huge impact on
every aspect of your life without knowing
all details! Anyone else agree???????????

Ohhhhh man, don't get me started on
a**hole doctors. That is completely wrong
that he has the power to take away your
licence with no proper diagnosis, and if I
were you I would be getting a second
opinion from another doctor. I have had
an absolute gut full of doctors that treat
you like complete sh*t and have no one to
answer to, there is no government agency
or independant body you can complain to
when something goes horribly wrong and the
doctor stuffed up. There should be a
complaints board or something where you
can vent your gripes and they should have
to answer to that board or be wiped off
the medical practicians list unless they
abide by the rules.

I totally agree with you suzy about not
sitting back and letting a doc tell me
what to do....My prob is that all this
only started a few weeks ago and I am
going overseas for awhile in a
week...Thats what got me so angree I
think...Cause they tried to stop me from
going...Just because I get shivers up my
spine every now and then! Its crazy, it
has no impact on anything I do...They just
dont want to hear about that! I just
dont understand how they can class that as
epilepsy..I have known people with it and
ive seen their fits and I have nothing
like that...Just a simple shiver up my
spine...Which I can feel coming and can
stop it if I want to!! Its crazy! Well
have another appointment with the doc to
get my ct scan results today..So will see
what happens hey!
one time
I stood up and stompped my feet,i let the
Dr.Know who was in control,this
time, lol. All the medicine they had me
on,at that time wasn't working worth a
flip, and I was so tired of it,i had just
had a friend to die of a seizure too.I had
had enough,so I really don't want to get
started with this.I was going to post
yesterday,but I thought I had better kewl
down first, lol. They ( Dr.) finally sat
there for over 45 min in his office
listing to me,then, thats when he started
going over stuff about the v.N.S. Implant
with me too,and I stayed 2 weeks in the
hospital just fer test too, with no
medicine at all.Tell ya what, after what
all I have been threw since my child
hood, and seen my mother cry and all, ohhhhh
nooo not no more,no dr,going to win,by
just pushing me out of his office,so he
get money in his pocket,my life is more
inportant then money

Driving With Sz's Posted: 09-25-03 22:34pm
I'm not sure who your doctors are but mine
never even suggested that I could not
drive. When I first went to get my
licence all I had to do was get a statment
from my doctor that my sz's were under
control with medication. If all you have
are shivers then I would get a second
oppion . Couldn't hurt! I wouldn't even
mention the first one if you don't have
to. That way you will know for sure the
second one is not just going along with
the first doctor.
Be very calm about it though, if you get
all worked up with the doctor it will more
than likely hurt your cause.
if they both agree you need to be on
meds, than I would listen to them.Unless
your having uncontrolable sz's there is no
reason to take your driving ability
away.....Sharon
