Bee With Sting bite
Posted: 07-07-04 06:38am

I was stung the day before yesterday by a small..Bee..I think it was a honey bee since the stinger pulled out of it's abdomen and was left in my toe for a couple of seconds. It is now july 7th..(a little more than a day later) and my toe is still swollen. The bee(s) have been coming in the house through one of the doors. I've killed about 15 of them since I got stung. I can't figure out why they're just now trying to get inside. I guess more of them are coming in is because when a bees stinger is released and the bee dies....The bee releases a pheremone or something like that into the air that signals to the other bees to sting...So I guess that's why more of them started coming inside...I need to know what to do about the sting and what I can use (a pesticide or something) to get rid of these things...Or to just get an exterminator, especially to see if there is a hive around...Plus...My father is severely allergic to stings..And i'd rather get stung by one than one sting him. I've used a hydrocortisone product to reduce the itching and benadryl for the swellingness, but it's still itching like crazy (althought i'm not scratching it) and swollen like it was just like the day I was stung... :?

I hope these bees weren't carpenter bees.....
