Q: Burning In Stomach

I am having a constant burning sensation under my left rib cage, it is a non-stop thing, I find myself belching a lot and getting a gnawing pain, I have been like this every since april, I had an upper gi (negative)blood and feces test came back normal.

Any answers, I need help.

I have taken prevacid, ranatidine, aciphex.

My next step is endoscopy.

I am praying it isn't cancerous.

Thanks for your time.

Burning In Stomach
I to have had the same problem with burning in my stomach mostly when I am empty I have to eat small amount about 4 to 5 times aday. I have stomach ulcers. The meds I am on now seem to be helping I take nexium at bedtime. Cant eat anything for 2hrs before pill. I also have a spastic colon (ibs) had this problem for years. Since 1992 was doing fine for a long time but now both are acting up, lots of pains in my ribs and back from the colon. I also take levsin or levbid for the spasms but I know it will take some time to for the meds to work. Need to take fiber like metamucil or fibercon everyday. Stay away from caffeine. Hope this helps someone Smile

i've been on levbid for 2 weeks now and its seems to be helping. Still have some pains under my ribs. Also have been taking some ativan to keep me calm. Stress has a lot to do with my stomach spasums. I know what it's like and how stressful it can be not have a diagnosi thats what happened to me back in the 90's when test after test didn't show anything. But when I was in the middle of my colonoscapy I had spasums the doctor really knew what the problem was right away.

Thank you for the information. I was so worried about this that I had a panic attack on saturday. I am now on zoloft. I go for another testing next week.

Thanks again.

Hope you feel better.
