Your husband has diabetes so it's gonna be in your childs genes. That doesn't mean they will definitely develop it though. I know absolutely nothing about being born with diabetes so I don't know what the chances of that for your children are. But if you and your familly are all aware it's a possibility for your child as they grow up then at least you'll be sure of what to look out for if it does develop. My uncle used to give his children a blood test every 6 months (he's diabetic too) so that if they did develop it it could be caught early. I wish i'd have caught mine earlier, maybe if one of my parents had had it I would have noticed sooner

I am a 29 year old female who has had type 1 for five years ,i have three healthy children ages 7,6 and 3 . My children show no signs but my father has been injecting since he was 19,diabetes is very strong in my family,so I try to monitor what my children eat and drink,i push the no-pop ,very little juice and a whole lot of water issue. I am hoping that if they learn a better way of eating that they wont have to go thru all this too,

Type 1 Diabetes is less inherited in genes, compared to Type 2 Diabetes.

In regards to humm's comment,
Infertility could be due to a lot of factors. Please see the doctor for investigations before stating that it's due to diabetes (but you are right, diabetes could cause infertility)
