Well, so many of the people that are speaking in this forum are wishy washy with thier opinions, I thought it would be interesting to hear. I dont want to do this, but I dont have a choice.

If it is medically needed, then you really don't have a choice. One more reason that abortion needs to remain legal.
I am sorry. Did you want a baby? It is one thing to have a choice, but a complete other to not. The choice thing works both ways. Good luck, dear.

You need to go to another doctor and get another opinion, its very rare in this day and age in our society for a direct induced abortion be required medicaly.

Very rare? You always say it isn't ever necessary samie. Please learn what you talking about before responding. You are wasting everyone's time.

Look Here Samie
There is no other choice...Im 5 weeks and my body can not take it and the baby will not survive, because of the medications I have to take for my liver.
Why let a baby grow to 4 months and then die?!?!?!? The medications I have to take will make it so that the baby has no bones in its body.....So samie, what do you think? Have a baby reach 4 months gestation and abort then???

First off let me just say.

I. L.O.V.E .Y.O.U.R. .N.A.M.E

look, I know it seems pointless and there is not many reasons for keepng the baby alive until you have an operation that will ultimatly end the life of the baby but is not a direct attack on the baby.

I have to be honest there are ony two reasons I can think of and it would take a couregous woman to want to fulfil either.

1st is religious reasons
2nd is to help the woman who will follow you into the exact same situation

i doubt we are brave enough to do things for other women

i cant see why if your life is in danger not to abort or why it should be ilegal other than for these two reasons.... Which no pro lifer would argue against you aborting. But would make sure you knew it is rare if ever necisary to have a "direct" abortion to save yourlife

Omg! No prolifer would argue those two reasons? Samie, you have argued those two reasons. Hypocritical. Gosh.
Second: once again samie, having a surgery that will inevitably terminate the pregnancy, and a "direct abortion" are the same freakin thing. Or at least perform the same exact function. So, your theory there is just ridiculous.
To help the women who will follow in her exact same situation? Number one, I don't think she asked for this to happen to her, or to be an example to the whole female race. Second, why wouldn't a woman in her exact same situation have to do the same thing? That just doesn't even make sense.

I agree with you sunshinefromthesky, you definitely have a reason, don't listen to samie, don't let her or him get you down! Keep in touch, I think you are doing the right thing for both of you! I wish I could be there for you! I know this abortion is difficult for you! I hope you think about getting your tubes tied or a hysterectomy, have you spoke with your Dr. About using some kind of b/c. Of course, that is not any of my business!

Sincerely,
sandy

No I am just making her aware she need not have a direct abortion.

I am not contary to what you may think trying to get her down, I truely feel sorry for her being in that position.

I love how there is not comment about the "direct abortion" thing.
Samie, how many times do I have to say this.
Having a surgery that will definately terminate the pregnancy (which is the only surgery that she needs done) and having an abortion is the same freakin thing!
Stop with this direct abortion. You are being insane!

Your obviously very under educated on the subject of abortion if think having an operation that will most likely result in the death of the baby and an operation that is a direct attack on the baby are the same thing

What do you propose samie, that she have an operation on her legs in the hopes that the fetus will spontaniously abort? I don't believe I know of any qualified doctor who would even suggest such a thing just because it is so absurd.

How about a operation to try and correct the problem while trying their best to save the baby... Just absurd isnt it

Wow, you are really out there if you think every medical condition can be cured with an operation. Don't you think if her condition were curable with an operation she would have had it a long time ago before she ever became pregnant? Wise up and learn a little bit about medicine.

And just as a side not the poster mentioned that the medication she takes will cause the fetus to form with no bones. That condition would already be taking place right now and would not be correctable regardless of whether a surgery would correct her medical problems.

Samie, don't tell me I am uneducated. She already explained what the problem was and there is not an "operation" for it.
You cannot operate on everything samie. It isn't that easy. So if anyone is uneducated it is you. Nice try though.
And once again, the baby has to be aborted. There is no other choice except for her to stay pregnant, wait for the baby to die and risk her life. So don't give me your crap about operations that do not directly abort the baby.
