Look at the health forums.Teen pregnancy-over 51,000 posts!!!We as a nation are failing to educate our children on birth control. Please don't start about abstinance, because you amd I know that just doesn't work!Educating teens is very difficult, but,my 14 year old stepson knows he can talk to me about anything(and he does, much to my discomfort,at times-but he needs to know!!)he has not yet asked about how to get birth control ,but if he asks me or his dad,we will tell him how and when to use it.He,s been told about safe sex and birth control and the responsibility of being intimate.Maybe more info than he needed, but, maybe made him think a little. If teens had more info on how to prevent a pregnancy, maybe, the number of teen abortions would be considerably lower.I'm not saying I condone teen sex or would want it in my home when i'm home, but I was there once and my mom gave me (some of my friends also) the info I neededthanks mom!!!!

Sex Education
The sex education recieved in the classroom is very cursury. It is up to parents to educate their children, not the school system!!If you rely only on what is learned in school, you bet there will continue to be a rise in teen pregnancy. But many parents rely on the school system to teach their kids everything from math to morals-so- that brings us back to the old chestnut of who should be having and raising children. I know people who send their kids to catholic school so they do not have to teach them about religion"the nuns do that".And you don't want a nun to teach you about sex, because then you'll really be messed up.I can remember some of the things we were told and its a wonderi ever figured out how things work!! Those with a roman catholic education have the lowest rates of teen pregnancy...Weird eh?

I agree parents should face their responsibility towards their children more!!!

But why should they after all they were disposable products of conception before birth, what worth could they be now? Undisposable products of conception!

Funny. Someone who is so against abortion is also against sex education. Yeah, the sex educators want unwanted pregnancies, whatever samie. Get a clue.
As I have said before, even doctors and nurses and counselors who work in abortion clinics do not force or even want the woman to have an abortion. They are there for support and to support her choice. And sometimes it isn't even a choice, it is necessary.
So, get off of your high horse, samie. Being prochoice is not about forcing or convincing someone to have an abortion.

Hotasfrick -when are you going to wake up and smell the coffee?

If you were a bussiness woman and you were making millions of dollars selling abortions to people. You also taught sex ed... Wouldnt you want as many of those who you taught to go and get pregnant to then give you their money to have a abortion... I am not in the real world!!!

There are some nasty people out hteir hotasfrick and they only want dosh!

A unnamed leading abortion provider is not caring and loving organisation they portray themselves to be.

There is a multitude of witness testimonies from women, abortionist, lawyers, nurses, clinic workers testifing that in most(not saying all) clinics hospitals etc they offer no alternitives, are counseled into having an abortion and physcologicaly forced....

Why would they lie?
Why would a woman who had an abortion lie about something like that?
What motive have they got.

What motive have they got? Simple. You won't take the blame for making what was the wrong decision for you. I am sorry that in your circumstance you made the wrong decision for you. But, stop blaming everyone else!

Dah, samie, most "abortion clinics" are not only places where abortion is performed. They are also there for counseling and birth control reasons.
And as I said before, most abortion doctors do not just perform abortions. They also have other practices. So, no, they do not want women to have abortions just so they can make money! No, you are not living in the real world.
If a doctor didn't get enough money from his abortions (as you see it) then he/she would either open a general practice, or also do obygn or whatever. They would not go around hoping people get pregnant so that they can perform an abortion. That is just silly.
And as I said, sex education is a good thing. Not a bad thing. If there was more sex education about sex, std's and birth control then there would be less unwanted pregnancies. So, if this is not what the "sex educators" want then why do they teach it?

Well numbers of std's is rising, teen pregnancy is rising, single mothers is rising,

sex ed is a good thing is it?

Obviously everything they are teaching is leading to these problems.. Its ok because they offer a solution... K ill the child and they will do it for a price.

All of those things are rising because of lack of sex ed, samie! Goodness you are so mistaken!
People who teach sex ed, teach about methods of birth control, abstenance, std's, pregnancy, etc.
It is those (like high schools and whatnot) that do not include the birth control and the other above in their lesson plan that should not teach sex ed.
You cannot just tell someone what sex is and then move right along. That is misleading.

Alright samie, let's try it your way. Let's not give any kind of sex ed whatsoever and see how many people stop getting std's and stop unwanted pregnancies. That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard.

All these things are rising because of lack of sex ed!!!

How come these problems havent decreased since we started teaching sex ed in schools then, how come these problems were minute in comparison prior to sex ed being taught in schools?

Well dear, we started teaching sex ed in schools quite some time ago. Now women have more rights, and times they are changing. Things have changed a lot since then, that is why there are more people having sex!

It is not because of sex ed!!!!!!!!!!There are many, many kids out there who have sex way before they have sex ed! We have eight year olds giving oral sex to boys on the school bus! So, don't you dare blame it on sex ed!

I said nothing of the sort. I did not say it was women's fault! Grow up.
I said times have changed.
