Hey chanda... I am supposed to be moving to new orleans with my bf around september, and my baby is due january. My question for you and anyone else in or from new orleans is like how are the hospitals and weather and stuff, bcuz when I went to new orleans on a tour for my bf job with him all I saw was downt town and that super dome, and we got lost and everything just seemed pretty torn down or getting that way and scary(new place), but I know everything can't be like that. I am not trying to put new orleans down in any way I am just curious to know about where I am going. Thanks.
Meagan

Hey
Well, I live about 2 hours from new orleans. I know newlife lives in new orleans. I don't know much about the hospitals down there, I know that since tulane is there the medical aspect of new orleans is said to be very good~! As far as torn down, i'd never live there. It's a place to visit, a place to go party at, but not a place in my opinon to live or raise my kids. I prefer being able to drive to n.O when I want and chill out but come home to my home!
The weather. Well, it's louisiana for you~ raining and I mean pouring one minute hot muggy and sunny the next! It's louisiana. The humidity can kill a person here! I don't like it at all. I'd never reccomend for someone to move to louisiana, much less n.O. It's nice to visit, but not to live~! Lol

i guess you can tell from my writing I really, really don't care for louisiana much at all. I've lived in arkansas, south carolina, georgia, and louisiana. And personally, my fav state is south carolina.
But not all of louisiana is bad. The food is great and the partying is awesome! Just not somewhere I plant o stay forever!

Hey
Well, to start my dad is from arkansas and my mom is from louisiana. Well, I was born in arkansas. We lived there until I was 8 when my little brother was born and he was in need of brain surgery at 4 1/2 months old. So, the medical college of georgia is like the best in the world (in our opinion) so we moved to augusta, ga so he could be by his neurosurgon and hospital. Then, if you didn't know augusta ga and n. Augusta south carolina are like.... Seperated by a bridge...Lol. So we moved to a house in sc and moved around in sc a bit. Then in the summer of '97 we came to visit my mom's family here in la and the oil filed was booming so my dad and everyone movved here and he went to work in the oil field, which is what he does now. We bought a house here and, for now, we're here to stay.
