Q: Recovery From Te

I have been suffering from te (well, I assume it is...All the hairs that I have been losing have a white bulb) for about 3 months (i think due to coming off bcp). Has anyone else experienced te from coming off the pill? I think my hair loss is improving, but I would like to know roughly how long this lasts....My hair has got very thin and weak and I hate washing it and am afraid of going to the hairdressers.
Any advice would be most welcome.
Thanks...
(i also had my ferritin levels done - I came out at 28 which is low - I am now taking iron supplements).

Hi
i just read your post dated in july so I hope you respond to this since its now october.
I am the one who has put a post about te. Please tell me more about your experience with it. I have lost a little more than half my hair in the last three months since it has started. The doctors tell me it is probably due to a stressful event from months ago. - that it can go on for several months and it could get thinner still but that it will grow back. I'm so sad, I just had to cut it up to my shoulders. I had hair half way down my back. Now I can just wear it in a small ponytail where I can't see it falling out. Its the only way I can get through my day.
So, when did it stop for you? Is it growing back well now? How much did you finally end up loosing from the te? A lot of sad questions huh? I'd appreciate hearing from you. Thanks.

Recovering From Te
I am a RN and my boyfriend is a OB/GYN. I started losing hair as soon as I started the bcp. I dismissed the problem for awhile. I went to my hairdresser and she informed me that my hair was thinning. My boyfriend said he had never heard of the pill causing hairloss in all of his 20 years of practice. Women usually complain about it going off. I stopped the pill 2 months ago. I was shedding at alarming rates. I lost over 50 percent of my hair. I started hair vitamins 3 months ago. I also started eating more protein and juicing. I got on a antidepressant to help with the anxiety. The last week the shedding has improved. I as a nurse have spoken to many patients and all say it subsides within a few months. Please know that you are not alone. I am going to Beverly Hills to a Hair Restoration Doctor to get more info on TE. I will post the info I get on Tuesday.
