Q: Single Testicle Due to Testicular Torsion

I had one testicle removed last year because of testicular torsion. I knew nothing about it at that time, so the pain told me nothing. I only went to the emergency room after 48 hours from the moment that the first pain occured. The doctor prescribed me some antibiotics and told me to hold ice on it. It was to late for any surgery to save it. Only after almost 2 months of treatment, I had surgery and the testicle removed.

I never felt any change in sex drive, any physical changes of any kind and right now I am engaged to be married.

My question is about fertility...
My fiance wants a family pretty bad, and I cannot marry her if I cannot have children. The doctors keep telling me that everything is alright and I should not be worried, but the long treatment period and the large scale infection that I had makes me wonder...

Does anybody know anything about this, from own experience or general knowledge?

Thx!

Ps. Pls don't tell me about spermogrammes or anything like that, because I did'em all! Smile

Re: Single Testicle Due to Testicular Torsion
Get a fertility test, its the only way to be sure. One testicle should be fine though...

My last GF dumped me because im sterile, i relized that if that was all it took, i best not be involved with her, after all, i was willing to allow doner sperm, adoption, or anything else she wanted, but she didnt want me because i cant father a child. You need to have the test then talk to her about it..

If the docs say ur fine, ur fine
I too have the same situation, and have struggled with paranoia after having one removed at 13 due to undescended testicles. ive had 2 home tests whcih came out positive, and one absent whcih was due to virtually no ejecaulate dut to nervousenes.

You are only stressing your life if you have indeed been given the all clear, they have no reason to lie
