Okay my doctor has diagnosed me as post traumatic, bi-polar with, with paranoid dellusions, she doesnt know of any meds to put me on because every med she knows of react badly with the other disorders, shes put me on effexor for ptsd and it reacted badly with the bi-polar making my moodswings way out of wack shes put me on paxil for the bipolar and it made my depression peak, she doesnt want to put me on anything because she cannot think of anything that would not react badly and with how bad I have been lately with the paranoia and the flashbacks I need something before I go nuts, would anyone have any advice that I could give my doctor as to what to do to help me, or has any one else been in a similar situation involving the incapability to be put on meds...? Pls let me know....

Hi there

i'm sorry I can't really help you, I don't have bipolar but I have a friend who does and I thought having anxiety was hell...

I do know how horrible it is to have an aversion to every drug though, I cannot take anything (and I mean anything) for my anxiety disorder, except valium that is but I get so addicted to it, it's not even worth going there. I had the wosrt reaction possible to one drug my doctor put me on and I ended up in hospital, nearly comatose Shocked

anyway, I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in this and that perhaps someone over at the bipolar discussion board could help you. It's
they might be able to help you more...

Good luck, keep smiling

Thanks ellie for your reply, ried valium but it turned out that when I took it andwhen it kicked in it decided my mood for the day if it started working when I was in a bad mood I was in a bad mood all day, same with if I was happy or sad, then after a while it got to the point where it did nothing for me at all

Meds + Alternative Treatments?
Have you & your dr considered that for some of your problems(maybe most or even all??) you might benefit from alternative treatments - I would suggest that you look into buying (you may find somewhere you could rent or borrow one) a ces machine (dynamind.Com or alpha-stim.Com) these basically alter brain waves such as to reduce stress, anxiety, pain, migraines, suicidal feelings, etc (so probably ptsd would be helped & perhaps bi-polar).

The paranoia may even be aided but if not you might find you could be on meds for that if a ces machine helped the rest of your problems??
