I went off 2months ago after 12 years.I went off cuz my gyno says i'm too old(40) and high risk(i get menstrual migraines).I get my period every 2 weeks,i cry for no reason,and have trouble sleeping.I believe i'm starting menopause.Imiss my pills!!!!!But I know it is not worth the risk to my health.So,enough about me.
I have not had any weight gain,but do find myself hungry all the time.I'm glad you trust your mid-wife so much,but why not the doc??I would be hard pressed to stay with a doc I didn't trust.I have heard of women staying off the pill for several months before trying to concieve and using prenatal vits to prepare them for the pregnancy.I have also known ladies who never made it to their first cycle and got preg right away!Good luck and find a doc you trust!!

Your doctor probably was just referring to the fact that it is safe to start trying after your body starts ovulating properly again. Your midwife is probably playing the safer plan to make sure you start on the vitamins early enough. I would trust either route. It often takes a few months for your body to get back to it's normal hormone balance after being off the pill anyway, but like patty said some take months before their body is ready to get pregnant and some don't need any time at all! As for the weight gain, it could just be from the hormone changes of going off the pill. Just like going on the pill.. It varies from person to person whether you gain weight or not.

Thanks for your responses. I have been hungrier than usual too. I'm sure I have been eating more but I feel more swollen than usual.

It's not that I don't trust that doctor, I just don't trust doctors in general. I live more of a homeopathic lifestyle and don't plan on ever seeing that doctor, only the two midwives in the office anyway. Unless of course I need a c-section.

I started this lifestyle once my nephew developed autism from a mmr vaccine. He was developing normally and was healthy before the vaccine. Than afterwards he got very sick, went backwards with everything, stopped talking, making eye contact, etc... They found that he has 600% mercury over the legal limit in his poor little body. After researching into vaccines I couldn't believe what I discovered. They are not only useless in preventing the disease but they damage so many children. After educating myself I could never do something where the risk out weighs the benefits. So we will not be giving our children vaccines. I have joined a group with lots of support from others who had their children or a family member damaged or died from vaccines. There are many others in the group that knew all of this years ago and have 20 year old children that they never gave vaccines to and they are actually more healthy!! That is why I seeked out a mid-wife because they are not only so caring but they know lots of medicine free natural ways to cure things.

My midwife said that she has tons of couples that do not vaccinate for the same reasons I explained to her and she is completely supportive. I have had doctors put me down for figuring out their money making scam!! Then after telling them how I felt they tried to vaccinate me for german measles which there hasn't been a case of them in my state for over 20 years!! Crazy!! Anyway that is one of the reasons why I do not trust doctors.

Well, I am going to have to start watching what I eat to get the weight off. I am also going to go to the drug store to get an ovulation predictor kit to see if I am actually ovulating or not to plan ahead.

I had been on the pill for nine years, and then I went off. I had horrible, heavy, crampy periods for a year. They came about every three weeks. So, I eventually went back on the pill. I also gained weight. A lot of weight. I never gained when I went on the pill, but I did gain when I went off.
As the others said, everyone is different. Some do get pregnant right away and some take a year or more. Some women's cycles to not even out for a long time, if ever. I never had a normal period before I went on the pill, so that is why I went on it in the first place, but it did get a lot worse when I quit taking it. So I am back on it now, and quite content again. Of course, I am not trying to conceive. Just relax and it will happen in time.

As for the vaccination thing, I am really sorry about your nephew. Vaccines do have possible side effects (some very severe)but so does everything that you take or do. I will vaccinate my children. And I don't think that my children should be in school with children who are not vaccinated as it is not safe or fair for that matter. But, that is just my opinion. I would rather have my children vaccinated so that they do not catch the measels, mumps, or anything else and have it kill them. Especially when I could have prevented it very easily! But, at the same time there is that slight, slight chance that something horrible could happen and I do understand where you are coming from.

For you to say that you don't want your children in school with children that are not vaccinated just proves that you must not really trust in the vaccines your are giving your children to begin with. If you give it to them for immunity then why would you worry about them getting anything?? Do you not believe in the vaccines after all?

Plus do some research and you will see measles, mumps and all you mention declined on their own before a vaccine was even invented due to better hygenie, and sewer systems, etc...

We don't live in a 3rd world country and don't spread disease like the government may want you to beleive.

As you say you are aware of the severe reactions to vaccines. If this ever happened to a child you knew or were close to you may have a different outlook. Especially if you educated yourself with all the pros and cons before making a decision.

I am educated with the pros and cons my dear. I don't want my children in school with kids who are not vaccinated because to me that is poor hygiene. It is a rule in most schools that your children have to be vaccinated before they are allowed to attend. If it was dangerous to everyone, they would not be required.
As I said before, everything we do and do not do has risks. Each person has to weigh them and make their decision. Just like taking a certain prescription, or cold medicine for that matter.

I did not say you were "not educated" what I am saying is that you are not educated in this matter. Check the facts. The government wants you to believe it is a law to register for school, but it is not.

There are philosophical, religious, and many medical reasons that you can refuse vaccines and legally register for school.

And as for "good hygiene" goes, being vaccinated or not does not determine hygiene.

And as for not wanting your kids in school with un-vaccinated chidren, if your kids are vaccinated, and you are soooo sure that the vaccines keep your kids safe from the diseases, then what possible effect can my un-vaccinated child have on yours?

Yes, I realize it is not an actual law, but it should be.
Vaccines are not 100% guaranteed (and I think I spelled that wrong) but they definately do reduce the risk. So, children who are not vaccinated should not be allowed in school with those who are, because if these children get it, there is the possiblity of spreading it to others. To me that is a hygiene (or at least health/ safety) thing.
Once again, just because this is my opinion and I do not agree with you does not make either of us right or wrong. That is just how I feel. It also does not make me misinformed.

Maybe you should home school yopur children then to feel more comfortable. Millions more children are damage or die from vaccines every year so parents are wising up and soon a lot of peope won't be putting that poison in the helpless childrens veins.

I'm personally more scared about someone who had the vaccine passing the disease along since they is what usually happens. Kids are injected with the disease it self, plus mercury and monkey's blood, and aborted fetus tissue... How healtly can that be in a child's blood stream??

As for home schooling my kids, I don't plan on having kids. If I did though, home schooling wouldn't be a bad idea with the violence that is in schools now. But, then if the child was home schooled they wouldn't really learn how to "survive in the real world" so it is kind of a lose, lose situation.

I agree it's a tough decision. Everyone must do what is best for them and do what they can live with. It's actually a harder road not vaccinating becuase many people just don't respect our choice. Mostly becuase they are scared and want to beleive their doctors. I can't blame them but once it happens to someone they know then everything changes for them. We found a doctor who doesn't vaccinate his own children and we will be very happy going there.
