Q: Blood Found In Underwear Help!!
asked by: noodleandshorty on June 26th, 2004

I went to the bathroom and I saw a spot of red blood on my underwear I did shave my legs today but I dont know if I cut myself and so I looked and I did but I didnt think I got any on my underwear. Well then I went to the bathroom again and I had several brownish streaks of dried blood. What could this be? Would that explain why ive been having throbbing back pack lately? Lauren I hope u could help the most and the others that would be great. Cause I have no idea what this is. I go to the doc on monday so yea

Hey heather! First of all...Calm down and take a few deep breaths! Has the baby been moving like normal? With the back pain and the blood, I would just call the doctor and let him know whats going on! I know its the weekend, but there should be some number you can call for the "on-call doc". I'm sure they would like to know what was going on, and it would give you peace of mind! Try not to stress out because thats definately not good for either you or the baby! Let me know something!

She hasnt been moving alot today but does move at some points like when I get hungry other than that she hasnt been. Usually shes always movin. Ryan noticed the dried blood on my underwear I didnt even notice it(the brown stuff) I noticed the red spot but I figured that was from my leg or somethin but the brown stuff didnt come from my leg.

Like I said, I would just call! Better safe than sorry, you know? More than likely it will turn out to be nothing, but you can never be too safe! Let me know if you hear anything!

Well could it just be old stuff or what? Because I havent been feeling any different but I still have the throbbing back pain nothin really in my stomach. I was feeling sharp stabbing pains in my vaginal area but that would be my ligaments stretching..I think..I dunno we'll see what happens

No I didnt call the doc I fell asleep on the couch while icing my back for the millionth time. I went to the bathroom after I woke up and there wasnt anymore old blood so maybe I dunno...Its kinda weird. Ok here there wasnt anymore brownish blood on my underwear just the stuff that was there before I fell asleep. I havent been having any contractions but they do say u can get them in ur back right? Well maybe thats why my back is throbbing so bad?? I dunno ill know everything for sure on monday my appointment is at 9:50am so ill be home around 12-12:30 since we have to drive two hours(back by my moms). I just want to know what it is ya know, isnt it early to have back labor im only 30weeks.

U seriously need to call and just tell them those symptoms.. About the blood. .The pains and the discharge. I definitly wouldnt have waited, even if the symptoms subsided now, I would still call to tell them.

Heather hun I know you are freaking out right now. Anytime that you have bleeding in pregnancy, I would say go to the hosp. You are delivering your baby at!!! Go right now heather and I mean it. I dont know if your having early labor or what but it is enough to freak us all out. When ever I had any worry I went straight to the hosp. I mean the night that I tripped I was only 17 weeks, I went in because I was so scared and I was having terrible back pain. The 2nd time I peed on myself. Remember I thought my water broke and turned out it was just the baby beating up my bladder cause she was hot. They dont laugh at you at all, they actually say glad you came in. They need to check you and find out what is going on and they need to ease your mind up. You know I have been saying go to the doc since you first had the pains and know with the new occurance I said go, bye, let us know as sson as you get back!! I love ya, give that tummy a rub for us.
Lots of love,
heather and hayley

Any bleeding in pregnancy is not normal and should be checked right away.... Its probably just an infection but it should be checked and treated....
Good luck and let us know how it goes..

We didnt go to the doc but we are goin on monday like I have been saying, so I wont know anything until monday there isnt anymore strange shiny/slimy discharge and there isnt anymore brownish blood. But I still have the back pain so we'll see what happens on monday. It may seem like im not worried or somethin like that but I am worried but im not gonna freak out about it because I am 2 hours away from my hospital that im delivering at and I dont want ryan to drive 2 hours just for a 5min check up ya know? So we will know everything on monday and ill post about what happens. Thanks ladies for bein there for us(ryan and i) yall really help alot.

Hun, you really need to call at least! If not the doctor then ask to talk to a nurse in labor and delivery at the hospital. Bleeding and throbbing back pain are 2 signs of pre-term labor. Pre-term labor may not wait until monday!!! You need to call I am so serious.....You might be sorry you didn't. Heather please just do everyone a favor and call!!! We don't want anything to happen to ya!

You're 30 weeks right? I dont think normally they would check at 30 weeks (like its not a routine thing to do at 30 wks) but give the circumstances its a good possibility he will! If you wanted him to, you could probably ask and he would! Just a guess though!

My doc started checking me at my 30 week appt for dilation. She said she just does it to be sure. Well, she'd check to make sure my cervix was closed (thats the same thing as checking for dilation right??) and I gotta get her to check again on tuesday cuz ive been having those contractions again today too. Have u looked online for information on bleeding and back pain at 30 weeks? Cuz some people have the same thing and u can just type it in the search box and that might help u out a lil too. Hope ur doing better Smile

Heather if your not bleeding anymore the doc will check you to see if your dialated. I was checked at 17 weeks and I was checked at what was it 26 weeks when I mowed? I dont remember the 2nd time but they check you to make sure because they are signs of pre-term labor. The back pain and the spotting is enough to make them check. They will at least make sure your cervix is closed. When I was 17 weeks he checked me to see if I was dialated and then checked to make sure my cervix was shut. Let us know as soon as you find out something tomm. And good luck. Love ya girl.
Lots of love,
heather and hayley
