Q: Arm And Chest Pain

My husband was recently taken into hospital after a suspected heart attack. Although the ecg results indicated some heart damage, the other tests (stress test, blood tests, etc.) showed no problems and the medical staff at the hospital are unable to come to a decision as to what is actually wrong with him. He frequently gets an ache in his chest (as opposed to a pain) and pain in his arms resulting in a feeling of weakness. This is usually accompanied by a hot flush. These attacks usually only last a few minutes and are often followed by a persistant need to burp, which makes us think the problem is possibly digestive. However, we can't imagine what would cause the pain in the arms which is the most debilitating part of the attack. Any ideas?

Have you coincidered acid reflux. In some cases it can be severe and fell like a heart ache. I used to have it and it was unbearable. Ihad to burb and my chest felt like it was on fire and ached, it did make me feel almost nauseous.

I have been able to correct that problem. If that may be it I can give you a solution.

Arm And Chest Pain
We have considered something along digestive lines, but would that cause the pain in the wrists?

Ok, i'm new here, explain acid reflux to me. Is it the same as gastritous(i don't think this is spelled right, but you get the picture). I was diagnosed with this 18 years ago when I would suffer from an attack once or twice a year. However, over the last two years it has increased to once a month, and now I am down to at least once a week. I haven't figured out what sets it off yet, but others have suggested caffeine, oil, dairy products, etc. Whatever it is, it's becoming rather tiring as the symptoms are chest pain, backache, and bloating which when begun seems to have to run its course. In other words I haven't found a remedy that works very well. Embarassed help!
