Anyone else dealing with this (now or in the past). I would like to get some insight from another lupus patient...

Thanks!

Stomach Problems!
Hello lady brannon Smile i'm not sure if my problems were linked to lupus or not,but i've always had ulser like symtoms. If I eat certain types of foods or just something to often ,i have problems. They checked me before for ulcers. Never found any, just figured I had a sensitive digestive systom. I don't eat any barbeque any more.Very little fried foods. No pork. Things like that. Like I said, I have never been told it was linked to my lupus. But it wouldn't surprize me .
Does this help?...Sharon Smile

Hi Sharon!
Of course it does! Smile

they told me that I have a few ulcers with a case of gastritis and that the symptoms (and do I mean yucky symptoms) probably led to the onset of lupus symptoms and pain! You know?

I was just wondering what people take for it? Why they were on that medicine vs. Another?

I was also wondering if people with lupus and ulcers found it to be related to the lupus? To the lupus meds or just happened with no corollary to the lupus?

Do you take anything for yours?

Thanks!

Medication
Hello lady brannon, I only take prevacid at this time. Not counnting all meds for other problems. I also have a hernia.
Upper not lower.I get severe acid reflex Sad Sad I was just told to avoid certain foods that I knew brought on uppsets.Sometimes that's hard to do. I eat alot of baked or grilled chicken. It's a good thing I was raised on a chicken farm Laughing I just can't eat fried food very much without suffering the results.Bad....Cramps and you probably can guess the rest! I never eat barbeque or pork. That's just asking for trouble. Also to much chocalate, which I love!!!
I never thought to ask if it was connected to my lupus.
I'll sure ask next visit. Have you ever heard of a lupus stroke? That's laymans term. My rhue and nero-doctors in texas told me it happens very deep in the brain. My rhue doctor here conferms that. They just haven't been able to figure out why or how to treat the results of it. I have bouts of severe numbness on my left side. At times worse than others.Like now. It's a creepy felling..........Sharon

Hi Sharon...
Yes, I have heard a lupus stroke.

What did they tell you? Did they at least offer to contact some other specialists? Did you test positive for aps?

Aps?
Never heard of that . I'll be sure to ask my doctor about it. Sorry i've been having computer problems again. Sad I wasn't able to post any replys until they re-regestered me as a new member because my computer errassed my account with this web site. So I will show up as a new member again for a while.
Oh well most of you know me by now Smile
i know my rheu doc here will get to the bottom of my stroke. I don't feel so alone about it any more. The doctors I saw in the emergency at the time made me feel like I was making it up!! I know that the 911 operater and the peramedics who responded to my call would disagree with them!!
It was a scarry felling, I don't ever want to experiance again! Sad i'm still suffering from the side affects . ....Sharon

Lupus ulcers
Hi, i am aps, have had 3 strokes with the lupus. I get painful ulcers in my nose, ears and my mouth. It was found by a blood disorder speciaist. most labs are not any good at detecting this disorder and it is easily misdiagnosed.
