Q: trying to conceive and lower abdomen pain

My husband and I are trying to conceive, I don't know if I was pregnant. I have been working out alot lately and I was about 4 days late on my last cycle. I had been working out on thursday and got a sharp pain in my lower abdomen. I went to the bathroom and I had started bleeding. The next day I had stopped, and now I have started again but it's not like blood; it is black. I just need to know if someone has been there before and what it is. Help!!
