Im 21.. I was just diagnosed w/ depression. I took lexapro.. Had major symptoms that messed me up.. I overdosed on acetamenophen.. Was sent to the hospital.. And partially I think it was b/c of the lexapro. Anyways my parents were upset.. Im now seeing a doctor who put me on wellbutrinxl and xanax for panic/anxiety. I'm feeling better, but still lonely. I just got out of a 2 year relationship w/ a guy that messed my head up.. He didn't help out any and thought depression was something in the head and basically he thought I was crazy. I plan on going back to college stronger and more aware.. And trying to get myself out there to meet friends and have a support system. Im located in houston texas so email me if you want to talk.

Getting over a relationship after 2 years is not easy. Guys always like to twist things and put it off on you, it was probably him who was the crazy one! You are young! Their are a lot of jerks out their along with some good ones, you have to be careful! I am sure you will meet a good one in time!
Sincerely,
sandy

Hi jecorporation-
i agree getting over a two year relationship is very difficult! You seem like you have a good attitude and are a strong person. You masy want to look into getting into a cbt program over the summer as I think it will help you a lot. Cbt is not like other talk therapy. A good cbt therapist does not care much about your past or why you think you feel the way you do etc. A good cbt therapist knows they cannot change what's already happened to you but they can help you change how you deal with what happens in your life from here on out. It's all about using the tools to learn to think more clearly and accurately about things and once you do your depression will miraculously begin to lift before your eyes. My favorite starter book on cbt is "been there, done that? Do this! By sam obitz and feeling good by david burns is another great cbt resource. You may want to call the university in your area too as many offer cbt programs or groups for little or no charge, there may even be a cbt program at the university you attend :d
good luck!

Get some help and preferably cbt based help. You will be glad you did as it will help you a lot fore the rest of your life Smile the two books we used in my group were the obitz book and mastery of your anxiety and panic-third edition by michelle craske and david barlow. Both are great book and easy to get through.
