Small Lump In Neck (Page 1)

Same deal for me pal when I was 17. Small lump in neck where you say. I left it for about a year and it very slowly got bigger. It turned out to be hodgkins lymphoma. Some of the sypmtoms I encountered were tiredness, night sweats and a clearly swollen neck on one side.

That said, I would suggest just sitting on it for now. Wait and see how it goes over the course of a few months. If it does not go away or it gets bigger go see the doc. A simple blood test is an excellent way to get a look at what's happening.

Right now tho, I wouldn't be too worried. Good luck!

I am 16 years old and I too have a bump about exactly were you have said. I have been on a Z-pack and now on amoxicilin for it but does not seem to go down I also have recently become very tired and seem to wake up during the night and seem very hot. Do you think this could possibly be the same as the hodgkins lymphoma as you have talked about if you could reply back and let me know more about it that would be great!

I had ( have) the same thing, but more under my left ear. Turned out it was a reactive lymph node. Doxycycline(?) made it shrink. My brother had hodgekins last year. Hes 38. Hes good to go, they have made a lot of progress with it. The doctor pretty much out and told him the chemo would suck but it would work. Watch out for the night sweats and itching. If they start up, its probably hodgekins , but dont freak out, its quite curable.

Thats wierd because I have exactly the same thing same place and size and its been there the same amount of time apparently the doctor said its a cyst but how he can know just by feeling it... I'll probably go back and mither them again soon. :?

If its been there a while without changing, and you arent suffering any kind of symptoms like mentioned above, its most likely nothing ive been told. Mines been here a long time. I remeber messing with it when I was about 11 . Im 35 now. Dont sweat it. :wink:

If its a lump, then go striaght away to your doctor.
It maybe nothing but a doc can tell you if it is...

Im getting quite worried because im a 15 year old male and ive had a lump on my neck for about a month now and its only recently started to get bigger. I also have a lump right in the middle of my chest and a small one just behind my ear. Please can someone give me advice on what i should do?

yes. I am 44 woman, and I have had a nickel or bigger size lump inside the right side of my neck, it does not hurt at all. its been there a couple of months thugh. I have also had fierce bouts of itching. just randomly, alot on my head, no NO LICE.. my face itches sometimes, my legs will have a bad itch, or my arms.. no rash either. any replies to this? thanks in advance.

i am turning 18 this year and i have recently discovered a small lump on the left side of my neck too. It is also slightly behind my ears. It is generally painless but it may hurt a wee bit if i press on it. I am planning on consulting a doctor but i think i should just wait for another week. What should i do ?

P/S i have several night sweats before.

I have had a pea size lump on my neck for the past 6 motnhs, been to the GP several times, was told it was an infection, so he gave me anitbiotics, did nothing. Went back again and he gave me more antibiotics and did some blood tests. Blood tests were fine. But lump was still there, he told me to just forget about it. But it is hard to, so i told him i would like to be referred to a speacialist. Recieved my appointment letter today, so just waiting to see what they say. It could very well be nothing. But better to be safe than sorry!

I am a fourteen year old female. I have also recently found a small bump right below my neck about the size of a pea. It doesn't really bug me unless it's slightly pressed on. Any idea what it is? Thanks

I think it might just be a pinched nerve. I have one now, n I've had one before. I've noticed if I push my self really hard in the gym, or I sleep wrong, I'll get one.

I am a 15 year old female who has had a pea sized lump on my neck for a few months. It's on the left side and doesn't move. It doesn't hurt unless you press down hard on it but lately I've been feeling extremely tired, blood tests were fine apart from I found that I was anemic but I'm concerned about feeling so tired and weak even though I get more than enough sleep at night (10-12hours). I'm not sure whether to just forget about it because knowing me it's just nothing.

if you have sores on your head, it triggers it, i have one behind the left ear, along with a sudden one on my neck although i have a sore upon my scalp which the doctors swears up and down it's due to that.

Hi i'm a 16yr old female. I found a shallow lump maybe almost an inch long about half way up the left side of my neck a while ago, not painful, not visible but I can feel it. Do I need it checked out?

Hello, i'm 32/F i noticed yesterday a sm pea sized soft ball on the left side of my neck towards halfway between the collar bone and as i touched it, it would move around almost, like a sm marble? What could this be..i've never noticed it before and it was quite stange..please advise..thanks everyone

im an 18 y/o female and i woke up finding a tiny lump [not very noticeable] on the left side of my neck. when i press it, it hurts. when i move my head about, it hurts a bit like it's swollen. i slept on my left side, could this might have caused this? should i be worried? :S

I just found the same sort of thing on my neck (24 female).. just wondering since most of you seem to be females - how many of you are on birth control pills b/c I just started mine a month ago and wonder if there is any connection??

i have hard biggish lump in between my ear and my spine near the hair line. it is very hard but dosn't hurt at all when i press it. i've had it for over a year.....

Hi im 18 just. and i have had a lump on my neck for about 6 months now... it doesnt hurt at all and it is about 2-3 cms long (was smaller before).

ive been reading up on it and have read some symptoms these are the ones i have
i get hot and cold flushes that come and go over the last few months.
i am always tired
i wake up sometimes in a complete sweat
i always seem to have flu like symptoms
i get bad headaches alot!
i have poor concentration
and my moods change rapidly ( which the doctor put down to my depression)

Im starting to really worry as most of my dads side the family have had or have cancer of many forms....
I want to be a police officer and i start training at the end of the year if i am successful...

anyone got some advice for me????
