Q: Rebif Injection Site

I started taking rebif (22 iu) a few months ago and am very frustrated with the injection site pain. I find at most times, when I inject anywhere on my right side, the pain is anywhere from medium to none, but if I inject anywhere on my left side, the pain is rediculous - I almost want to cry. I've gotten to the point where I have to get my boyfriend to do my injection, b/c I just can't bring myself to inflict pain on myself! I've even had to skip some nights, b/c I agonize over the pain i'm going to feel. I was just wondering if there is anyone else out there with pain during and shortly after injection? I was especially wondering if anyone has heard of major discomfort on just one side of the body. And why is it that I can inject myself sometimes and feel nothing at all, and inject myself other times and want to cry at the stinging feeling? I find this quite strange, and annoying!
Thanks in advance,
t.

Hi,
i have had some of the same problems with injection site pain. I take betaseron though. Are you right handed? I find that the areas that are harder to reach with the auto injector don't get the best 90 degree angle! So, I have the same problem with the left side of my body.
Also, do you rotate your injections? As in, top, middle, bottom at each injection site? I had a friend who did not know about this b/c her rebif nurse didn't teach her that. Maybe you could just use those sites on the right side of your body.
There is no need to inflict pain!!

i have some of the same issues and I take betaseron. for me the left side of the body hurts. i use the autoinject because the needle only method left lumps, some of which hurt. I use ice, heat, massage the sites, rotate sites - still have pain. I have my husband give all my shots. I have been on the drug for about a month and am wondering if the pain ever goes away - seems not to from the posts I have read.
