My 4 week old son had swollen breasts after birth. His right breast has gone down but his left is still swollen and appears to be red. He has recently had increased crying jags and I am wondering if his left breast could be hurting him, and if I should call the doctor. Also I don't know if this is relivant but I am also breast feeding.

Re: Swollen Breasts
To be honest with you I think its best if you cotact the baby's doctor if you haven't already done so anything could be wrong with your child breast, but call the doctor fast. Im not trying to scare you but you really need to see whats wrong.

Extremely eHealthy
It is normal for male breasts to be swollen, same as female breasts when born. Sometimes even dispell colostrum, or little blood, but I dont think the red is normal. Somehow could have gotten inflamed and yes that would hurt. Call your dr or his dr and see what they say.
