College Thoughts-advice?
Posted: 06-11-04 15:20pm

Hey all.Ive been thinkin a lot about college with a lot of my friends graduating and that, and I think I want to go to an on campus school, as apposed to the original plan of stayin at home and commuting. I am afraid that being so close to dan still, that I will go back to him because its so conveinant. And my sister had talked to my parents and they told her that they would take care of livy like every other weekend pick her up n meet me half way (45 minutes is middle)so I could stay down there and live a halfway normal college life some weekends* not that ill party, but hang out or do whatever* I really think I want to. I know itll be hard but what have some of you done? What do ya highschoolers plan on doing about college*assuming you are goin* hmm...

Hey mol,

im so happy to hear that you are still planning on going to college. As for your idea...Do you really want to be away from livvy like that? Dont think i'm criticizing but I would think that would be difficult for you and her both. As for dan, I dont think you would go back to him not after what he said to you. Most campuses have family housing as well, if you are married or have a child you are considered a non traditional college student *traditional students are 18-23 straight from high school no spouse or children* so there should be many different options from housing and day care and a bunch fo stuff to help you out and its teriffic that youre family wants to help out, and keep us posted, I work in one of the administration offices at my university so I can give you the basic skinny on stuff if you like!

I think it is awesome that you are going to college! There are so many single mothers that think they cannot continue their education. I wish you all the best in your education! And it is great that your parents are going to help you out with livy too!!

What college are you looking at going to?

Love,
megan

I think college is a great idea too! Be sure to ask about scholarships, because non-traditional students, like meg was saying, can usually get lots more scholarship money than most students.
