I'm 16 days post op from a total abdominal hysterectomy. This was elective on my part. My mom died of ovarian cancer (after having a vaginal hysterectomy in her 60's leaving the ovaries in!). Once I went into menopause, I wanted it all out.

I was advised by the doctor to call if my temp was greater than 100.4. I was discharged with a low grade temp (2 nights in the hospital). When it hit 101 on the 4th day, they put me on cipro for 7 days. I still have a low grade fever in the evening (fine in the morning).

I've been seen for 2 incision checks. They say everything looks fine.

Why am I still running a fever in the evening? Has anyone else had this problem?
