Q: Fetus Heart Beat

I am on week 7 now - I went for fetus heart beat scan today, I was sad when the doctor said there is no heart beat yet, my fetus is 5mm.

I was also told that if there is no heart beat next week when I am 8 weeks, then it will be unsuccesfull pregnancy. The doctor mentioned that 7the week is the boarderline for fhb scan.

Can somebody please tell me, when is the right time for fhb scan and how big the fetus should be to be able to hear the heart beat.

I am in a land where english is not widely spoken and going to the hospital and seeing doctors are really painful, especialy the chinese way of saying negatives stuff to their patients.

Re: Heartbeat
When I went in to hear the heartbeat at 10 weeks, my doctor told me that it was still too early, so we tried again at 12 weeks, and there it was pumping at 136bpm. I wouldn't be to worried yet it will probably take a few more weeks. If it would make you feel any better, you can probably rent a doppler to hear for yourself. You can find them on the internet. I would hope they would deliver to another country.

My doctor said the same thing. Even at 12 weeks it may be hard for them to hear it.
