I heard that the best time to get pregnant is within the first few days after your period ends...Is this true? I had sex with my boyfriend within the first 5/6 days after my period ended. Is it possible that I could be pregnat? Please reply or e-mail me! Thanks alot.

Most women ovulate 14 days prior to their period. Once you ovulate you have about 24 hours to get pregnant. Also sperm can live up to 5 days inside of you (especially if they are healthy good swimmers). You need to know how many days your cycle is (e.G. 30-day cycle). If you know this you can forcast when your next period will start. Now, count back 14 days from the forecasted start day of your next period and you will be real close to your ovulation date. Start using an ovulation predictor kit around the day you expect to ovulate. When the kit says your ovulating go to it! This worked for me rather quickly. Good luck. If your cycle is irregular than it will be harder to predict the dates.

You can start 5 or 6 days after your period starts, because of the fact that the sperm can live inside of you for five days, but if you wait 5/6 days after it ends you are more likely to concieve.

Since You Are Only 15 ...
I have a suggestion for you. Well, two really.

1. Why in the world are you having sex when you are just a baby? You aren't even driving yet! You think you 'luuuuuve" this boy? Ha. Odds aren't you will not marry him. You will not be together this time next year. Honestly, believe me. Believe us 'older' women in this room...We know. Personal experience. Ever hear this saying "why buy the cow, when you get the milk for free?" yeah, uh....Read it again, think about it. Have a little bit more respecet for yourself than that. 15...That's insane.

2. If you absolutely, positively must have sex, which I highly dought, you should try this thing we like to call a condom. It prevents a lot of things, namely one, babies. If you don't want a baby, use a condom. Use something. And don't use the 'pull out method' which is the dumbest method ever thought up. It will still get you pregnant.

Be good to yourself, have some respect, you will honestly regret your sex decision making when you get older.

Actually, our relationship is long distance...So its not like we have sex everyday. We only see eachother, not very often. But we actually are going to be together along time.
I see and understand your point, now see and understnad mine. Thanks!

You are still so young, why should you want to be out having sex? You say your going to be together a long time...Do you know that for a fact? Has he already given you an engagement ring? Bought a place, do both of you have jobs? No your not old enough, give it a few years darlin and then you should be able to handle all this.

I see your point..But I just know im my heart that he's th one for me. How can it be acceptable for older people to say "wow..I found the person im going to marry"...But a younger teen cant say that. And dont say its cause were not mature/responsible.

Plus I didnt really ask for advice or people to tell me not to have sex..I asked for help..There might already be a baby, and that cant be changed. Anyone else here that can answer my question?

Actually we are advising you not to have sex considering you are only 15. And the reason older people are allowed to say "i found the one!" is because they have had more experience in dating and meeting many, many guys from bars to clubs to las vegas to parties and work. Someone who is 15 can say what? I met guys at school, a birthday party, and ummm...A pep rally or football game? Plus you are only meeting boys, you are not yet a woment to yet meet a man. Thats why. It really is puppy love, wait until you are 26 and you will regret it. Because you will say why didnt I get to go out and enjoy my youth? You will miss out on everything thinking you can be tied down to a boy.

And here is the answer to your question. You can get pregnant at anytime a guy comes in you. It is easier when you are ovulating, which is not 4-6 days after your period. And sperm can live up to a little more than 72 hours. Not exactly 7 days. Maybe you should re-take sex ed, and learn everything about it. Including being safe as in getting tested for std's, getting on birth control and taking a test after your next period is late.

I dont mean this in a mean way, but you are really too young.

I didnt say I wasnt too young..But I really do love him. You guys dont see me and him together. Both my mother and his grandma agree. My mom knows that while he was visiting we had sex.

So are you saying that I could be pregnant? Or not...I'm just kinda nervous, but very excited if I am! Smile

thanks for your help, and some of you guys can be very mean, but others of you are super nice. Thanks!

Darling sometimes hearing the true reality of things not living in a fantasy world hurts. But we all need to hear it. If my child, at 15, was having sex under my roof I would kick her boyfriend out and she would get the punishment of a lifetime. But most of all I would be disappointed that I wasn't a good enough mother to teach her to be safe and respect herself enough to wait until she's older and mature enough to handle the responsabilities of a child.

I Have to Disagree
Sorry nikki but I have to disagree on teenagers not knowing what love is or not being able to know if they found the one. I have known my best friend for almost 4 years. 3 before we began dating. We had the most wonderful relationship. I was definately so in love with him. He was the only one I ever put above myself. But I went and screwed it up. But we are still friends. I'm hoping that one day he might give me another chance. Don't get me wrong, my babys father is a good guy, it's just that if I could do it all over, I would have done it differently. And if I could have my ex over the father of my baby, I would jump the chance. But I think anyone knows when it's love. When you dont even want to look at another guy, when you would do anything for them (even if it's gonna cost u) I cant explain it. It's just sumthin you know deep down.

I never said that you couldn't be in love. I think its definitely possible to be in love. Cherish your love, don't get caught up in it and get pregnant because if it's true, you can wait. Smile

I know...But it just happened. We used protection, but it broke.
But i'm not gonna be sad if I am, but I think i'll be sad if i'm not. But either way, we're having kids together, and willb e forever.
Thanks!

Right? Wrong?
I didnt post on here to hear you guys tell me that what I did was wrong. I came here because I wanted some answers. I've read posts before, and you guys like to say "your too young" etc. It gets old. No matter what you guys say, teens are still going to have sex. You guys are here to help these people with their problems, not tell them that they are bad for haveing sex so young.
I dont know if what i'm saying makes sense...But I thought I should say it.

We are not telling you your bad. And maybe you wont stop having sex but maybe you will all start using protection! Honey it doesnt get old because its true. If saying it a thousand times will get it through to one person then it was worth it. I've worked with so many girls, and you don't get through to all of them but that one you did get through to makes all those ever so frequently repeated phrases well worth it.

You know anything can happen, either your pregnant or not. The best way to find out is really going out to get a preggo test. If you don't have any money, there's clinics all around that you could go to. They will give you one and will give you a choice whether you want your parents to know or not.

I'm not gonna try to school you but do you really think this guy is the "one"? Long distance relationship fails most of the time. The fact being is that you're always gonna feel like that person is with another person or anything beyond cheating. I'm 17 and i've had 2 long distance relationships. The first one didn't work because we both felt like it wasn't working. I really thought he was the one but came to find out that he was just gassing my head up. When I came to see him on spring break, I found out he was cheating on me. The last long distance relationship I had has been working great but only because before I left we were together for 2 yrs. And when I was gone we were always on the phone or some kind of contact with each other. Also I wasn't gone long. You should really think about what you're trying to do. Make sure having a baby for you isn't because you want to feel loved or because you want to have that comfort in your mind thinking that he is going to leave you.

When you know its the one..You know. I talk to my boyfriend, his sister, his grandma, and some of his friends. It's like i'm there, but i'm not.
I love this guy more than anything in the world. Its not that I want a baby because I want him here, or whatever it was you said. I mean if I am pregnant, then i'll be happy, if not, then i'll just wait till later in my life.

Thanks for the little piece of advice *smile*
