Blimey......... Isn't it just plain hard work having to live in this day and age and believe in all that old twaddle, doesn't it get confusing having to redefine your understanding of the bible and what the pope has to say with every new step that science and technology take. Surely you've got to get religion into perspective. In the 21st century all it really is is for those wanting to hedge their bets incase there is something else after you die. Personally I do think there is, but I bet you anything you like that it's got b*gger all to do with anything you've ever read in any "written by man" religious texts. There's a saying isn't there........ "if there was no god, man would have had to invent one." - and that's exactly what we did.

Samie, whatever. Don't tell me to repent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!How dare you judge me? You are the one who had an abortion so if it is so wrong then you repent!

As I have said (and I love how you toss it to the side, because you know I am right) no sin is greater than any other. Most of what we humans do is a sin! So who do you think you are telling people what is right and wrong, when I know you are not perfect.

So even if god doesn't like the idea of abortion, he will forgive if asked. He knows that we are not perfect!
In your way of thinking we are all going to hell! And hey, maybe we are, but please come up with a valid argument.

I am not judging you!

Just ask yourself would christ defend the abortion laws? If you come up with no, ask yourself why you yourself do when you’re supposed to be a christian.

If you discover quite rightly you can either be a christian or pro choice make your decision.

If you choose christ repent for your former life, renew your baptismal vows and realise you have died and you now live for christ and don’t forget to prey for those who are still in the darkness of pro choice.

"prey for those" -- sometimes the spelling mistakes are very appropriate (freudian slip?)

And once again samie, you ignore the obvious and take out one little part and try to make a point. Very, very typical for you.

Don't bother trying to debate with me if you cannot make a valid point.

As far as I can tell samie's only "valid" point is that she is right & good & saved by the rc church whereas anyone who disagrees with her in any way is wrong & bad & not saved by the rc church unless of course they are members of the rc in which case she would say that there is hope for them Exclamation Exclamation

in case anyone missed by sarcasm - there are some of us who are not & do not want to be rc, who hold different views to samie & still believe in god & that we will go to heaven (in my case, i'll go to heaven first before moving onto my next incarnation!!).

Hey, did you notice samie's other "character" yet? Yeah, I guess gordy and the manipulator weren't enough, so now we got another!
You can tell it is either her or her "little friend" because they do not read before responding! Oh, and of course we all disagree with him/her/it so we are in the wrong and are just ganging up for fun.
Good times.

Several centuries ago, the pope decreed that all the jews
had to leave italy. There was, of course, a huge outcry from
the jewish community, so the pope offered a deal. He would
have a religious debate with a leader of the jewish
community. If the jewish leader won the debate, the jews
would be permitted to stay in italy. If the pope won, the
jews would have to leave.

The jewish community met and picked an aged rabbi, moishe,
to represent them in the debate. Rabbi moishe, however, could
not speak latin and the pope could not speak yiddish. So it
was decided that this would be a "silent" debate.

On the day of the great debate, the pope and rabbi moishe
sat opposite each other for a full minute before the pope
raised his hand and showed three fingers.

Rabbi moishe looked back and raised one finger.

Next, the pope waved his finger around his head.

Rabbi moishe pointed to the ground where he sat.

The pope then brought out a communion wafer and chalice of
wine.

Rabbi moishe pulled out an apple. With that, the pope stood
up and said, "i concede the debate. This man has bested me.
The jews can stay."

later, the cardinals gathered around the pope, asking him
what had happened.

The pope said, "first I held up three fingers to represent
the trinity. He responded by holding up one finger to remind
me that there was still one god common to both our religions.
Then I waved my finger around me to show him that god was all
around us. He responded by pointing to the ground to show
that god was also right here with us. I pulled out the wine
and the wafer to show that god absolves us of our sins. He
pulled out an apple to remind me of original sin. He had an
answer for everything. What could I do?"

meanwhile, the jewish community crowded around rabbi moishe,
asking what happened. "well," said moishe, "first he said to
me, 'you jews have three days to get out of here.' so I said
to him, 'up yours'. Then he tells me the whole city would be
cleared of jews. So I said to him, 'listen here mr. Pope, the
jews ... We stay right here!"

"and then?" asked a woman.

"who knows?" said rabbi moishe. "we broke for lunch."

I am not against the man but look @ what these young kids see when they see pope john paul ii. A man that is unable too walk or speak, with alzheimers and parkinson's disease, this can be scarry for young and old, yes I know, it is a part of life! I am not a catholic but in my younger days I looked up to stronger people, as most do, I saw him on the news, I work around these people, they are unable to make decisions, this is sad!

And what about the priests and all that a lot of them got caught on child molestation, but because they are catholic this makes it o.K! And I also know that in the catholic religion that it is o.K. To kill someone and you will be forgiven of your sins and I have friends that are catholic and they agree with me and I am not against catholics, their have been so many changes in this religion, heck, they used to not eat meat on friday's but now it is o.K. And I am not against any religion, their is good and bad in all. Great jokes janetbee, keep them coming, I agree with purple!

Sincerely,
sandy

Good Post Sandy

Sandy, thank you for your post, it was a welcome breath of fresh air!

As for the pope, he may have parkinson’s but he is of sound mind, what a man he must be, how strong and courageous to carry on fighting for what he believes in, I hope I am as active, spiritually strong and courageous as he is at that age… damn I wish I was now. He is off to ireland in the next couple of months and has many other dates worldwide. Wow can you think of a more dedicated leader? What a role model for every one of us.

Yes some priests did do that stuff but the scouts is far worse and a lot smaller organisation and we don’t hear about them in the paper or on t.V. Percentage wise the problem is well lower than most other areas and the percentage of priests who are pedophiles is a lot lower than the rest of the worlds population I am not condoning it but it has to be put in perspective.

It is not ok to k ill some one according to the catholic faith tell your catholic friends they are wrong. The fact you can get forgiven for k ill ing someone does not mean it is ok to do it or that you should do it, it just means if you are sorry for doing it and promise not to do it again christ wont hold it against you.

As for the meat thing they changed it from a “should do” to “if you want to” but kept good friday a “should do” hardly cause to say the religion has changed somewhat.

People often forget that there are two doctrines in the catholic church scriptures and church teaching – while catholic faith remains unchangeable catholic teaching is little more flexible it is the faith that gives the teaching flexibility. I wish people tried to understand it before hating it.

I don't have to have a religion, I have a relationship with the man above! You said pro-choice christians have a conflict with jesus christ, that is a crock! My catholic friends did not tell me about killing in the catholic religion was o.K., I was in the catholic church that day along with others who also walked out of the church after the priest said what he said to the man.
You only want to believe what you want to belive as most everyone says and you want everyone to believe the way you believe, toooooo bad this is not going to happen! You have such a close mind! You had an abortion because you wanted to! The pope has alzheimers and parkinsons he is not able to make decisions, work around these kind of people then you will understand and I am not saying the pope is bad, their is good and bad in all religions, race, etc. We are not interested in what the pope has to say!
Samie, I don't really want to talk to you anymore! You need a lot of help! I am sure that I am not the only one that says this after reading about what others say about you! Quit twisting and turning everything around that people say, get a job, a life, this is not a place for your(key word, your) religion! I rebuke the blood of satan in jesus!
Sincerely,
sandy

Was st peter an evil man, was st paul, was st john of the cross.

These were all catholic.

The roman catholic faith is the direct religion that comes from the apostels of christ.

Anglican, methodist, baptist etc all devolved from the rc church.

Would you say those things about st peter? The pope is his succesor and no different to st peter.

Samie,
get real popes are huiman beings & some (despite being popes & so according to you the same as st peter etc) have been brutal inhuman ungodly creatures not worthy of entering any decent kingdom - much less heaven - try reading some history & then think, if several popes have been so criminal then so can others be.

Plus any human can also be fallible popes are human & they can be mislead or misinterpret etc & therefore guide the church in the wrong direction.

If you're going to spout garbage go somewhere where people will listen like an insane assylum which is where such blind obedience & stupidity belongs.

Jesus is preaching to a mob which is about to stone a prostitute. He says to the group:

"let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

this ancient looking woman hobbes up and with what seems like her last ounce of strength, picks up a large rock which had been resting by the prostitute. She raises the rock over her head and just bashes the hell out of the prostitute. Jesus turns to the old woman and says:

"sometimes you really piss me off, mom."
