I often have stomach pains, bloating ect. Also I have been constipated for the last 3 days of so. It is hard for me to use the bathroom, and when I do it comes out in lil hard balls. Also it is kinda a darker color than usual. Also what make me even more weary is the fact that it has mucousy stuff in/on it. It looks really nasty. And I hate to talk about it Sad Confused But since you people wont ever see me, that gives me more comfort in talking about whats wrong Smile ..So..What could be the problem, could it be serious, from what I have said,do you think I should contact my doctor?..Please any and all help will be greatly appreciated

Have you spoke to your Dr. About this? That would be my 1st step! Tell him the way it is, don't be shy, ashamed or embarrased, this is your body! Are you on stool softeners? I have problems when I have to take extra pain meds, you might need a colonoscopy test to see what is going on. I am no Dr., but as a caregiver dr's and hospitals use a lot of magnesium citrate, it is something you drink that cleans you out especially before a colonoscopy, I sure hope you find out what is wrong soon as I know it can be miserable, if I were you I would get it checked out before the problem gets worse!
Sincerely,
sandy

You don't say how long this has been going on or if there was any change in your diet just before it started??

My daughter used to have alot of constipation, but ate everything (except bananas) & I mean everything. Then she went to italy for 31/2 months & came back with irritable bowel syndrome (alot of her symptoms were what you describe) due to her body just not being able to cope with the massive amounts of carbohydrates etc there, she lost alot of weight (went down to about 70lbs) then after she self-diagnosed (drs being total morons & refusing to listen, hear or consider any alternative to anorexia nervosa!! Girl teen weight loss = automatically anorexia nervosa (& they were specialists!!) she cut out potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, rice, pasta, bread, cakes, etc & sugars etc & gained weight, now has normal pain free bowel movements & no cramping (except if she eats the wrong food by accident) - there's also tonnes of great recipes for sweet stuff (cheesecakes, biscuits, muffins etc etc that she's now found that use alternatives like splenda & almond flour so that she can eat the yummy stuff!!).

That Sounds Like Me!
Wow from reading the post it almost sounds like what I get kinda. But what happends to me is I get so constipated for so many days that when I actually go to the bathroom sometimes it will be really hard balls but others I will have diarriah. I hate it because lately everything I eat or drink gives me diarriah.

Yeah I did forget to mention...There has not been any change in my diet. But I do know if you don't drink much liquids you will get constipated. And I dont hardly drink water at all..So yesterday I started drinking pretty decent amounts of water, much more than what I usually drink. I'll give it 'till tomorrow to see if that will make me stop being constapated. But if I don't, and I still see the mucousy stuff i'll definately go to the doctor by thur or fri.

Thanks for all you guys feedback/advice!

Deffinately contact your doctor, that should always be your first step. You should also reexamine your diet. If you eat a lot of breads, you could have a yeast problem in your stomach.

My daughter is 9 and has those kind of poops too. The doctor made me give her either benefiber or metamucil. She prefers the benefiber its tasteless and does not get thick like the other stuff. It has helped her alot. She still has little balls for poop but they are squishy and not hard . Have not seen the mucusy stuff lately either.

My daughter also had suffered severe constipation (all her life actually) but when she went onto the ibs diet (check out lowcarbfriends.Com) her bowel movements became normal - unless she went too far off the ibs diet) she has always drunk plenty of water - in fact aside from black tea, a rare fruit juice water is all she drinks.

Aparently if you producing rabbit droppings its a sign your livers congested. Milk thistle is good for cleansing the liver, as is aloe vera. Having suffered from ibs since my early teens your kids all have my sympathy. I take an aloe vera juice colon cleanser, with added milk thistle and it works wonders. Sometimes it gets a bit much, as my insides are very sensitive, I stop for a day, let all calm down and continue. It's available from health food stores and costs about £7.99 for a bottle that lasts 2 month.
Should absoulutley help with any bloating or associated gas.
Plus raw juices are excellent as the body doesn't have to work hard to process them, yet gets all the vitamins and minerals quickly.

Teenagers!!
I bought the aloe vera juice - & my daughter said she'd use it - did about twice - then stopped - she knows that it will take awhile to "work" but well she's 16 & doesn't always listen to me - especially since starting university earlier this year! Still I will try & talk to her about it again tomorrow.

Ah! Tell her if she wants a flat tummy, clear skin and shiny hair to persevere. I use the max strength one, the others don't work as well and can be dis-heartening.

the Tummy Gets Them Every Time!!
Her gorgeous thick brown waist length hair & perfect complexion are to die for but!! She hates her tummy actually you may be able to offer some advice -

she's always had the ibs obviously (at least it's obvious now!!) but it only really went into overdrive & affected her badly after she went to italy - at which point eating pastas galore she lost weight & then of course the drs asid teenage girl weight loss = anorexia nervosa !! So told her to eat more (all wrong stuff) she went down to 32kg (about 70lbs 2.2lbs=1kg) anyway she almost died thanks to the specialists then she self diagnosed & went on the ibs diet & weight started gaining - well that was great - or so we thought but now she can't stop gaining it. In feb she was 38kg she's now over 60kg - in fact a few weeks ago she was weighed 57kg I bought her a pair of trousers/pants which were lose then about 5-7 days later I went to take them up & she couldn't even get them on!! That's how fast she's gaining - this despite no fast foods, lots of exercise virtually everyday(except if she's ill but even then she usually does some yoga).

This weight gain (she now weighs more than she ever has - way more)is so distressing for her and no-one has been able to offer any suggestions except 1) destress, 2)let your hormones get back to normal - she lost her periods from feb 03 till june 1st 04 (has had them 4 times inc now) - but how can she destress when she's soooo upset & can't fir into even new clothes that were big on her a week ago!! Oh & 3)some other possibilities like hashimotos hypothyroidism - I don't want her being tested constantly for every possibility especially she's still literally traumatised by what she was put through by drs last year.

Any ideas, suggestions anything??
